I think we can all agree Gagner is as good or better then Cody. Kassian is better then Clifford. Maybe that trade is pretty good after all

Bozak has similar offensive numbers with a whole lot better line mates. He is/better on the draw then gagner. But I'd say Gagner>Bozak

So....

I'd take Cody over Gagner personally.

I was kind of saying that in jest, but I've looked at our current center depth in the minors - wow, it's almost non existent!!

Junior level yes. But therein lies a bit of a problem, BIG gap between our core and the next up and coming players.

Like you said, that's what happens when you're trying to win a Championship. Time is right to sell some assets NOW!!

I do have to wonder sometimes why people remember Cody as being way better then what he is. Are we gonna do this with weise as well?

Edler wasn't very good last season either (although he was better than he's been this season). He's a shell of his pre-injury self and even he has admited he doesn't think his back will ever be 100%.

And Edler's revelation about his injury is akin to me claiming my knee would never be the same after I hurt it at 21—I'm not a doctor, and neither is Edler, so it's all speculation on his part.

My knee bothered me for a bit, but after a few years it was as good as new...

Might not be the same story with Edler, but he's not a doctor...

Edler's struggles are also amplified because he's become a whipping boy for this fanbase.

On any given night several of the other D make similar mistakes, but it's rarely mentioned as often.

It's pretty close IMO, both have similar strengths and weaknesses. I'll take Cody since he's a year younger and has slightly outscored Gagner at a per 60 minute ES rate this year and last year.

That 2010 draft has hurt both the Canucks and Comets, as those are the prospects you'd be expecting to carry the AHL team and supplementing the NHL club.

Good news is Jensen and Grenier are developing some good chemistry.

Have been great the last handful of games.

Grenier used to be listed as a C/W, but as far as I've seen he hasn't played C at the pro level.

It's closer than most people think though, Gagner just gets ripped on way more playing in Edmonton. People forget that he's still only like 24, seems like he should be 27 by now since he came into the league so early.

By the way, have you guys heard the southern US GM's(Tallon and Rutherford recently) when they get interviewed by Hockey Central at noon? Those guys don't even give a poop, they'll openly say that they'll listen to offers for certain players and will be either buying/selling(even giving specifics of what type of player they want, 3rd line RW etc.). I guess they can get away with it since they probably won't have thousands of fans calling for their heads if they fail to deliver.
