No one liked the extension, not even those of us who are happy they are staying. So if you were taking heat over it, it's because you were acting like an ass! - 1970vintage

Maybe a little short from Van so add a pick or 2 or make that Read or Couturier. My point was that instead of trading Edler we should look at trading Hamius. Of all the teams Philly might be the only team he would waive to go to. Not sure if Philly still has sour taste from the last snub by Hamius. We need to stop the nostalgia effect. Trade the guys with value that are older for value back. It is not easy for MG. |

I prefer Clarkson for water bottle protection and higher cap hit. |

30 I'd give ya. But I'd bet good money that Burrows has a higher PPG rate than Clarkson from here on out to finish this season. |

I'm not 100% into advanced stats as the Holy Grail of judging players, but I do believe that things tend to even out so they are useful in some cases, he's still getting plenty of chances so it's not like he's lost a step or something. Plenty of posts/crossbars..tough mid season injury and looking at his career shooting percentage's plus the team's shooting percentage with him on the ice this year compared to last year leads me to believe that the points and goals are overdue and will come.
I'm much more worried about Daniel Sedin. He's the one who looks like he's lost speed/strength and power in his wrist shot. |

Well, a SCF appearance and a couple of President's Trophies in recent history can extend a GM's execution order. It has only really been this year (handcuffed by the Cap going down) and Last (a lockout shortened season) where it has come of the rails for MG. I think MG has this TDL, offseason, and next season to right the ship before FA says off with his head.
That being said, if this TDL and Draft don't go well for MG making a major shake up, we may see a knee jerk reaction from FA. - Chest Rockwell
Knee jerk? hahahahahahah,
Its looking more and more like Nonis was the one who went to the final even tho he was fired.

This can be true... or not. Like you always lecture, wait and see. Weise has scored more with less TOI than many of our other forwards and plays more physical than Kassian most nights. Not a fan of him. The Canucks need Diaz more than Weise right now but there was no need to throw him under the bus like Torts did today. - boonerbuck
I actually appreciated Weise's contributions more than most. That said, I assumed he had zero trade value, so getting a player is kind of a thing. But this definitely seems like more of a trade for position than an upgrade. |

Absolutely. Diaz scored tonight... he's better than some off our other players in the system. I cant see Gillis getting more than he has for Weise. A small but decent trade imo.
