Torts is all but begging GM Mike Gillis to make changes... Rare stuff to hear from a Head Coach... very intriguing chapter here..

Everyone can see this team is free falling

So, Callahan wants 6.5 mil/season +

Anyone still want him?

Missed the game tonight - did anything interesting happen at all?

@benkuzma: How do you threaten change with 10 NTCs? You call out the team, individuals and hope you strike a motivational nerve. Welcome back, Torts.

When Mike Gillis took over as GM, he said he didn't like No Trade Clauses. Now he has 10 of them. Shouldn't have changed his mind.

No thanks. That's about 1.5M more than he should be making IMO, but he'll probably get his money on the open market.

@blakeprice1040 He's passing buck to his GM. Not Torts' problem. As Clarkie said: "The Great Tortellini. There are no mirrors in his house."

Pretty sure MG now sees that something other than stand pant, fill up your depth, and be patient is needed. Unfortunately this realization also comes at a tough time to deal with so many teams against the cap. Let's see what he can do but I'll be surprised if he's still our GM at the start of next season.

This whole mess falls completely on Gillis at this point. He fired AV and brought in Torts because he thought the players needed a new philosophy. I think it's quite apparent that this is a roster issue.

Out of curiosity, does anyone think Torts might not have been the best hire to coach this team or is this the best any coach can get out of this roster?

The sad part is GMMG will likely trade Stanton or Tanev because of the ntc's...

yeah, he has kind of backed himself in to a corner. Kind of has to make moves now, hopefully those moves don't ruin us. I still think draft day will be bigger than March.

I honesty don't mind torts, I don't think he is the issue at all but who knows. This core IMO has been together for too long and are way too comfy.

Yep he is. He is calling out publicly the short comings of this team. Even Hank said had disagrees with Torts today so maybe some players will want to give up their NTCs

Maybe not the best hire, but this roster couldn't play under AV and now can't play under Torts. Both good coaches and both with different temperaments and styles of play.

Changes were needed last season. Needed more size and grit and then he brings in Santo and Richardson.... Filled roster spots but really didn't address the needs.

When Torts was hired, people were expecting GMMG to bring in Torts' kind of players and that never materialized...

Don't think the problem is with Torts. But who really thinks the Sedins are Torts' kind of players?

Burrows being so cold hasn't helped. Booth has played well at times but has lacked finish...

Some bad luck but not really sure GMMG put the team in a position for good luck.

This is a soft perimeter team. It needs to be blown up period. Torts is doing the fans a favour

Don't worry, we'll include him with the Luongo deal.
