I said at the beginning of the playoffs that it was NE / Denver vs Seattle. This matchup reminds me quite a bit of the Titans/Rams matchup although Seattle's D is much better. Maybe more like the Rams / NE matchup.

Which was a great game? And/Warner is no Peyton. Should be a solid game.

I think Wilson is the key for Seattle as well. But through the air. Denver's d like Philly is decent inside but their secondary is awful.

Really? I would say the opposite. If he took that he probably will be fired.
- Bieksa#3

If it were Nyguist in that deal, he would probably be a good fit for Kesler. He's the playmaker that we all have been demanding for the second line.

Nyguist-Kesler-Kassian would be an interesting second line next year.

Agreed. He should be fired for not taking what was offered for Edler at the draft. If that was true, he got too greedy just like he did with Luongo.
- Chest Rockwell

i bet the offer at the draft is better then what he ends up getting if a trade actually happens..

I think Nyquist, Smith and a 2nd is terrible for a guy who dispite a bad season is considered a top pairing d man. Who happens to have a sweetheart of a contract, which may be his best asset.

See, I doubt that. If he rades him at tdl there will be tons of dancing partners. Look what Boumeester got at the tdl. And he had an awful contract. 2 1sts and a prospect

true. i should of said the offer from detroit. at the draft nyquist/tatar were just prospects now holland kind of knows what he has in them.

i just said that because the red wings offer is the only concrete(one that i know of) that we heard about.

also, i think edler goes in the summer. you trade him and its kind of like giving up on the season..?

The report I read said Gilles asked for Tatar, Nyquist, Smith and 1st. It never said what Detroit countered with. Just that they were reclutant to include the 1st. (Now maybe this means they would do the 3 young players or maybe they had another package all together) Detroit then approuched Vancouver again around Xmas regarding Edler and Gilles price hasn't changed.

Apparently at least according to lebrun, 3 teams tabled offers. Anaheim, Montreal a and Detroit.

Maybe, but Vancouver is deep on the blue line, and everybodys value goes up at tdl.

yeah sucks cuz id like edler here .then we would have a decent top 4. you add someone like him and it slots the defensemen in the place they should actually be playing.

i dont think a deal happens but its nice to ponder..

Even if Det drops the 1st that is still a very good deal for the Canucks

12 year deal with NTC seems about right.

If the current trend continues the Canucks will be out of the playoffs by the TDL anyways. If that is the case I hope Gillis starts selling.

Yep, but I do think the teams executive has made some decsio s for the future. I'm not sure trading a top pairing d man for 3 guys who may not contribute to a team may have sat well with the guy writing the cheques

Clarkson will be fine. He got paid too much for sure but in couple years with cap going up it won't be that big of a deal. You can't say he won't contribute that's stretching it.
