And throw in the fact that the DEA is saying Heroin is more available than pot these days & with pain killers harder to obtain, opiate users switch to H which is a cheaper, much stronger opiate high. Frightening. |

Playing around on Capgeek for next season, 1st try I had Miller centering the 3rd line, not signing Stastny and resigning Pouliot
FORWARDS
Chris Kreider ($1.500m) / Derek Stepan ($3.075m) / Rick Nash ($7.800m)
Carl Hagelin ($2.250m) / Paul Stastny ($6.600m) / Chris Stewart ($4.150m)
J.T. Miller ($0.894m) / Derick Brassard ($4.000m) / Mats Zuccarello ($4.000m)
Jesper Fast ($0.805m) / Dominic Moore ($1.000m) / Derek Dorsett ($1.633m)
Danny Kristo ($0.827m) /
DEFENSEMEN
Dan Girardi ($5.500m) / Ryan McDonagh ($4.700m)
Marc Staal ($3.975m) / Anton Stralman ($3.000m)
John Moore ($1.500m) / Kevin Klein ($2.900m)
Conor Allen ($0.925m) /
GOALTENDERS
Henrik Lundqvist ($8.500m)
Cameron Talbot ($0.563m)
BUYOUTS
Wade Redden ($0.000m)
Brad Richards ($0.000m)

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(estimations for 2014-15)
SALARY CAP: $71,100,000; CAP PAYROLL: $70,096,875; BONUSES: $1,295,000
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $1,003,125 - cranford93
I would sign Stastny and put him with Nash/Kreider. I would also try and sign Vrbata for more size and skill on the 2nd line with Stepan/Stewart. If Pouliot can be consistent, bring him back again with Brassard/MZA. I would put Miller on the 4th line with Hagelin and either Carcillo or Dorsett, that could be a very pesky line. I wouldnt bring back Boyle or Moore. Maybe Lindberg or Kristo as the spare. |

being a 21 year old with a few friends who have graduated college and haven't found jobs yet so they waste their free time getting high...i can confirm this. H is getting very popular and easy to obtain unfortunately. |

There is no cap space for any of this, even if Stastny would sign for 6.6. He won't, it will be more. |

They'll have the space, especially with the Richards buyout. |

That roster you quoted already includes Richards being amnestied. |

Yup youre right theyd be over by 3-4m, but I think a Vrbata would really help if they could fit him in |

Also says Girardi and the Rangers are over a million apart per year, so believe what you want believe - airjan23
I believe Brooks more than Garrioch. Considering there has been little in the news about Girardi and tons about Callahan I have to think it is more likely the Rangers are closer to extending him than Garrioch suggests. |

The last time Vrbata left Phoenix as a UFA he busted in Tampa and was traded back to Phoenix. I'd be worried that might happen again. |

If they are going to trade Callahan, I would limit the remaining turnover and supplement rather than retool. Also, on Statsney, I'm not sure how much better than Richards he is, and while it ain't my money, I would imagine that Dolan may not love the idea if buying out Richards for 18 million just so that you could throw crazy money at a guy that is marginally better at best. |

Agree on Stastny. Although it might make more sense should the Rangers trade Callahan for Stewart given the history Stewart shares with Stanstny from Colorado. And if they do buyout Richards I can't imagine them going into the season with Stepan and Brassard as their top two centers without someone else being brought in. |

He is hurt and will be out at least until after the Olympics. He is a UFA after the season too. It makes zero sense. Don't have an ego about a dumb idea. Just acknowledge it's a dumb idea and move on. - jimbro83
Or a double sign and trade...
St Louis isn't going to trade Stewart for renting cally are they? |

This will be Stastny's only chance to get as much money and years while he's a UFA. He definitely be signing for north of 7 million AAV. - tomburton99
With the leafs no doubt. I hope the rags don't do it -rather keep
Richards.
And another thing; everyone gets less ice in the playoffs -who's to
Say zucc won't adjust? Some do, some don't -not sure size has much
To do with it. Nash didn't do too
Well last year. Justin Williams always does -he's not so big. |

Exactly my thinking. I'd rather have Richards. |
