No, no and no. Were not giving up Shink and Corrado for Callahan. This team needs to rebuild more than retool. Mortgaging the future is a terrible idea.

I fly around 60 times a year , mostly for business. I used to fly Westjet around 25 times and AC around 35 times but I switched most of it to Air Canada due to that they have way better on time performance and don't cancel nearly as often. Also when Westjet has problems they will not book you on another airline to get you going but AC usually will. I find the front line employees for both to be around the same.

Yeah, I agree with most of this. I do find the Westjet employees to be a little happier but it seems they try to hard sometimes.

Not just that, getting these players regardless of caliber still have to have chemistry with the players already here. Team chemistry is huge. Developing younger players in an established core is always better. Build from within. We are beyond the quick fix. I have never been a fan of the rental player crap. Chemistry and trust is built through the regular season.

IMO there are only two times to rent. Either you're close and you want to make a push to try to go all the way, or you have plenty of young assets and you want to make a push to get your young team to the dance.

The Kings? Anyways, many teams add someone who proves to be important in their quest for the Cup.

Carter was not a rental imo. Unless you are referring to someone else.

Hossa comes to mind when the Penguins picked him up for a Cup run in 07/08, he had 26 pts in 20 games when the Pens lost.

But we are in no way shape or form in the same situation as them.

Three teams which I find fairly low in entertainment value (no hate mail from fans of said teams, please, as I realize we are all hockey fans and will sing kumbaya whilst holding hands stoned on freon) :

Phoenix
Nashville
Minnesota (although not as bad as in the past and I think heading in the right direction)
LA - either the games are very exciting or the games are a snore-fest.

Just my $.02

no chance, watching the Canucks these days is like watching a train wreck, you just can't look away

None of my friends want to watch the Canucks with me, I keep cheering against them.

Kesler for 3 Rangers or 3 Flyers. You pick.

Unpossible. Rick Nash didn't net 3 Rangers, I doubt Kesler will. I'd also say if the Flyers didn't grab Edler and Schneider when they had the chance, they've done their re-tool on the fly (pardon the pun). Someone also mentioned that Holmgren is probably pretty gun shy after seeing Carter and Richards hoist the cup and after getting taken on JVR.

Lol I don't think we do. As well as he has worked out for the leafs, it wouldn't be the same here. We played that card and it didn't work. Side note, was at Darcys(vic) tonight for the first time in a while. Just not the same as it used to be.... Miss uvic days.

He's def been good for the leafs this year, but keep in mind he has to have had a bit of chip after not getting a contract so there no telling if this continues. So this might be a one off.
