still too many breakdowns, even though the effort was solid. |

One step at a time. If they can get a couple of good effort games behind them, maybe they'll gain some confidence and stop screwin' around out there.

Not that today's task will be easy by any means, I have a better feeling about today than I do Monday's game...San Jose leads the league shots per game and differential, which means they probably spend a lot of time in their opponent's zone, something that seems like it would play right into the Flyers vulnerabilities. |

I am in a bad mood today. Someone at another forum posted the matches leading up to the trade deadlinem and I realized that the Flyers have a good chance of being sellers at that point(oh well, there is always hope, but here goes):
Sat Feb 1, 2014 Flyers Kings
Mon Feb 3, 2014 Flyers Sharks
Thu Feb 6, 2014 Avalanche Flyers
Sat Feb 8, 2014 Flames Flyers
Thu Feb 27, 2014 Sharks Flyers
Sat Mar 1, 2014 Rangers Flyers
Sun Mar 2, 2014 Flyers Capitals
Who do we ship, and what do we get for them? |

Agreed, of the 3 games, I thought Anaheim would be the toughest. However the next 2 games will not be easy, and the Flyers are going to have to be at their very best to win either. Short gaps, keep the feet moving and going hard to the net are all highly reccomended! |

One of Bill's axioms is to break out of a losing streak, you first get overall better play but continue to lose, then if the good habits continue a winning streak starts.
I hope that the Detroit and Ducks games were the start of the correction, even if they lose a few more games in the process.
Although with the break coming up they really need the wins now. |

Not liking our chances in these.
Kimmo and Downie would generate interest if they become sellers. Possibly Mesz too, but I doubt it. |

Yeah no kidding, they could easily be 27-27-8 by the deadline and sitting at 7th place in the metro. This is make or break time for this season, hopefully they find a way to at least go .500 from now til the break, but its going to take some hard work and most likely a lucky bounce or 3!

We don't ship anything, because we learned first hand in 2010 that if a team gets in, anything can happen. Selling off guys means you decrease your chances of getting in.
If they can get an upgrade at D, at the expense of no more than Read and a 2nd, do it. Otherwise, no trading Schenn, Schenn, Coots, Simmer, or anyone.
Besides, who would they "sell"? Hartnell who has a NMC? Grossmann? Mez? Point is everyone who's a selling candidate really isn't a candidate at all. |

I wouldn't expect any return from Mes - a 6th og 7th rounder?
Kimmo I think would fetch us a first. Downie - I really don't know, but I am guessing somewhere areound a 2nd.
I would like to see Homer adress the D come trade deadline, and work with it this summer. Speaking of: if we truly become sellers at the deadline I doubt our GM will be Paul Holmgren. |
