take that philly deal and run as fast as you can. |

Caught a portion of Gillis on 1040 this morning and he continues to say he is looking at trades and is working on it. I don't know what else he can say, I just want to see a shakeup.
I know talk of our lack of depth is a broken record, but would like to see guys called up from the farm to fill the holes that match their skill set. Higgins has, to his credit, been playing above his head for stretches but shouldn't be put on the 1st line when he is really 2nd/3rd liner.
With all these injuries, Jensen can't find his way into the lineup? I guess looking at the Utica stats, Ferriero is the hot hand but not the answer... Grenier looks like he deserves a shot.

Maybe he is just asking for too much and no one wants what he is offering.

Yeah, I like it. Would prefer to see Philly throw in a depth dman, but I guess that would be pushing it. Read is a good secondary scorer, Simmonds would be money with the Twins.
I really like Schenn and Voracek though. Obviously wouldn't be able to get both, hell even getting one would be great.
But if the original deal were to be made, you'd be looking at:
Heading into July after a Booth buyout and re-signing Kassian(1.5?), Santorelli(1 yr/1.5 mil?) and Tanev(2.5?), Gillis would have 10.7-11.7 million(70-71 mil cap) to sign 3-4 players to fill out this roster:
Sedin - Sedin - Simmonds
Read - Kesler - Kassian(bump one W if you sign a top 6W)
Higgins - Santorelli - Hansen(If top 6 signed Hansen on 4th w/ Rich would be great)
Sestito - Richardson - ???
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Garrison - Tanev
Stanton - ???(Corrado?)

Pretty damn good if you ask me. |

Isn't that hartikainen guy in the KHL and is not planning on coming anytime soon. Seems like a little salary dump of fraser for TO. |

If Gillis and Sather talk, there's your dance partners. AV loves Kesler, Sedins, Burrows, Bieska, Edler. And Torts, no doubt, would be pleased to see Stepan or Callahan pull on a Canucks jersey. I say send the Sedins to Manhatan for Stepan and Boyle
So when does this become a rumour and what E level is it at? - Canuckleafer

You give Cox too much credit, he is definitely not a journalist. |

From the little article clip, the first line says it all,
"If Gillis and Sather talk, there's your dance partners."
Worse than CNN speculating at an incident and guessing what might be happening when they don't know anything....
Sh!t, maybe he is a journalist or we need Wolf Blitzer on TSN.

Just throwing this out there but the Sedins line mate usually in international play is Loui Eriksson, I would hate trading with the Bruins but at leat they are in the east! Loui is signed for 2 more years @ 4.25 M. Not sure what you would have to give up for him but you could trade for him at the deadline or off season with a Booth buyout and still be cap compliant. Hansen, Horvat and a pick ? Edler and Horvat ? Any ideas or thoughts on this since we know there is chemistry with Loui and the Twins. |

I think it is a good idea... but, would not be willing to give up Horvat. We need more skill and scoring in the top 6 and Eriksson could fit that bill. Edler or one of the other higher paid D should be the trade piece. |

So according to Kuzma's tweet we've resorted to double shifting even in practice? That should help..... |

I know this isn't on Carol, but this tweet is a head scratcher...
Ben Kuzma @benkuzma
For what it's worth, practice lines are 20-17-14/7-15-36/22-15-36/29-54-21/21-54-32
Hope to see Schroeder and Dalpe play in the top two or three lines, did Schroeder practice?
Out of those line combinations, can anyone see what would be a #1 or #2 line on any other team in the league? Seeing Daniel with Richardson and Hansen is reassuring, will break his goal scoring slump sometime after Sochi....

You didn't miss anything, those lines are all messed up with players missing and others playing on multiple lines.
Canucks is disarray? CDC has more realistic lines
http://canucks.nhl.com/club/depthchart.htm?dcid=23
Funny, link should be 'lack' of depth chart.
22 45 14
20 17 36
07 15 09
29 21 32
Still think Dalpe should be higher in the lineup, the first line looks okay, but would prefer more scoring on the 2nd line... Maybe Dalpe there instead of Hansen... |

Lebrun:
"They will not be in on the rental market..."
Lebrun on what Canucks management is thinking: "We're not probably good enough to go out and beat a Chicago or a St. Louis or some of the powerhouse teams in the West."
"Not giving up on the season, but if they make a trade its for a young player. Its time to re-tool and re-set in Vancouver."
"It's about youth. Other than the Sedin twins, I think all bets are off for almost any other player on that roster."
"Alexander Edler on defence will get a lot of interest, probably after the Olympic break."
"Interesting times ahead, in my opinion, in Vancouver."

Don't need to blow it up, but our top 6 needs an infusion of goals/skill. It is likely a pipe dream, but if Horvat next season is ready to center the 2nd line and he has a winger that can score... and we load up on the top with Sedins and Kesler...
What am I thinking? If it was that easy and everything went as planned, we would be there by now.
