Vancouver Canucks acquire

Geoff Courtnall
Robert Dirk
Sergio Momesso
Cliff Ronning
1992 5th round pick (#110-Brian Loney)

St. Louis Blues acquire

Garth Butcher
Dan Quinn.

That might work.

No cap world...easier to make deals back then.

If its a rental, like a 1st for Moulson or something I bet we'll definitely see a big time mixed reaction. And people like to say that Gillis doesn't like rentals, but look at Roy last year.

Something like that, or a severely low return out of desperation, or prospects on the move...

Other than if it's another team just now inquiring about a vet or two, you'd think those "multiple opportunities" would have been completed by now if they were really beneficial to the team.

Missed the interview, so I assume it sounds like he's trying to "buy"? I'm all for making a deal that doesn't include a pending UFA, but outside of that I'd prefer to sell a replaceable asset or 2 sine the TDL always inflates the values of players. Only issue is that this is a weak draft so I'm not sure if a mid or late 2nd round pick will be that valuable.

It's a weird draft.

Outside the top 5-10ish there's not much difference between the projected mid-1st to late-2nds/early-3rds, so a 2nd has about as much chance of getting an impact player as a mid-late 1st.

It's so hard to tell at this age.

Either way, the Canucks 1st, 2nd, and 3rd picks will only bolster the prospect pool, so I'd rather not deal any unless they're getting a player who can help beyond this season.

Yeah, I think the majority of the fanbase agrees with that.

It's minus-21 in Winnipeg today. A great day for hockey, I guess...
