you and i have a fundamentally different way of looking at salaries.
i only ever look at the cap hit and the relative affect it has on signing other players....which is 7.5 and pretty reasonable for a top 5 dman in the world.
the actual dollars that the owner of the wild pays him shouldnt make much difference to the fans imo - hugefemale dog77
I wonder how much of that salary he gets back if the Wild make the playoffs ? |

Suter is a great player....but worth 12 mill salary per?
I don't think so. imo - Iggysbff
I think in terms of full value over the entire term of a contract. Two of the better FAs of recent memory that come to mind are Chara and Rafalski

all of it and them some id assume.
too lazy to look up the numbers, but im pretty sure i read somewhere than even a couple playoff games (above and beyond the pre season budget) are huge boons and all just gravy profits |

I didn't know you could get a John Deer for 0% down over 60 months, thanks EK |

Yup.
Both damn good, though. |

For all the chatter about him not making any additions to the team, he has tried at least to add someone significant every season except the 2 he's been (frank)ed by the cap. I'd like to see how he deals with this offseason before writing him off. - golfingsince
I second that. I haven't wrote him off. I just can't be defending him all the time either. |

You can get a garbage bag on the curb for free and have about as much as when you purchase a John Deere. (frank)ing garbage |

I will get killed for this here but Kessel was a great RFA signing by the leafs. He has done nothing but produce. They gave up a crap load to get him no doubt. They got unlucky with one of those picks being Seguin. But you can't argue with the production of one nut . |

I have no idea how they got unlucky with one of those players being Seguin. If you have a lazy untalented roster you finish near the bottom. Look at that roster then explain to me how they got unlucky |

They traded for him. It wasnt an offer sheet.
Maybe ur wording just had me confused. Which happens to me quite often to be fair |

Burke would never offer sheet cuz it's just wrong. He'll just offer the same amount of picks via trade. |

It confused me as well but he was a RFA when they signed him |

All i was saying was that they finished 22nd the year before and no one would have predicted they would be 2nd last the year after. Hindsight is 20/20 but to get a top 10 scorer in the NHL i would trade 2 1st and a 2nd all day every day.
In saying all that I would still take Seguin 1 for 1 for Kessel just cause Centers like him are impossible to get. |

They threatened to sign him to an offer sheet but Bos always said they would match it so I think thats why they offered more than what the offer sheet compensation would have been. I think the compensation would have been 1, 2, 3 so instead he offered
1, 1,2.

How weird is it to have an outdoor game on a Thursday night? |

What about Callahan? Eklund is losing his mind about him right now. I would love to see MG take a run at him in FA. Any word how he and Torts got along? Seems like a "Torts" kind of player. - Chest Rockwell
He is not big or fast |
