For all the chatter about him not making any additions to the team, he has tried at least to add someone significant every season except the 2 he's been (frank)ed by the cap. I'd like to see how he deals with this offseason before writing him off.

Who is the last big UFA signing that has lived up to their contract? I cant think of any? You would hope these poopty signings would stop someday....

Well they certainly wouldn't use a regular buyout anytime soon. He's still one of their top players. You aren't going to replace him at half his salary.

Regardless, winning 2 Cups is considered a successful UFA signing.

you and i have a fundamentally different way of looking at salaries.

i only ever look at the cap hit and the relative affect it has on signing other players....which is 7.5 and pretty reasonable for a top 5 dman in the world.

the actual dollars that the owner of the wild pays him shouldnt make much difference to the fans imo
