You loved the pp? Are you serious? The pp was horrendous all game. They didn't have a single good chance with the advantage. Franson was brutal.
They barely got any shots on the pp.
How could you love that? - burn

Or some decent defenders other than the lonely addition of gleason
First period was terrible we had so many powerplays and did poop all
The defense was terrible, gleason was only bright side
Pretty weird game overall, our passes were pretty crappy and turnovers for majority of the game, kessels shots were way off but made the nice pass to JVR, etc - Mapleleafs_91
yeah, couple bad pinches...D had zero help again, seemed like no urgency in the 1st at all...(frank)ing bailed out of our zone again leaving our D to make bomb passes..these are the wins we need and never used to get - Rielly fumbles that puck on the 1st goal but it' a crappy pass from Bernier. |

even in the 3rd when JVR takes it hard to the net and crashes...it's a 1 on 3 - two seconds later - TB are breaking in on another 2 on 1

Just because the Leafs have drafted a pile of dog poop over the last 20 years doesn't mean you need to over rate another teams draftees.

I'm not trying to make the argument that the Leafs have drafted well...
If you want to use Knuble, Osgood and Lapointe in the same breath as Yzerman and Federov and Lidstrom, well that's just funny. |

Franson only worth anythg on the pp, but lately he's not even doing that. The pp has been a mess lately |

Since the Lupul-Kadri-Kulemin line was reunited against MTL on Jan 18, Nazem Kadri has 3 goals and 6 assists in those 7 games. |

The Red Wings model was to hit a few grand slam home runs in the late rounds, develop them under the most rigorous system in the NHL, then surround the talent with reclamation projects willing to take a pay cut and work hard to fit into a clearly defined role.
It's practically Red Wings University. You go there not just to play, but to study. It was a great model while it lasted, but once you stop finding HOFers in the 7th round, it gets a lot harder to attract the supporting cast and the model begins to falter.
The thing about Detroit is that they'll never really tank because the system is just too good. I don't think they'll be able to pull off a classic "blow it up" rebuild. They'll always hang around 9-10th in the East. |

he started the game good with a nice hit - then he pinches on the pp...he had a few bobbles tonight...he hasn't been his best this year...I wouldn't give him anyway for nothing.
they need better forward support...we keep reversing behind our net..but the forwards have already blown the zone - then 1 mistake and (frank) TB has a great pressure game...I wish the leafs played like that more....(frank)ing Bishop for Connacher..why couldn't we be in on that trade
he's a monster... |
