Timo laid it all out in his interview.

Sounded as if his endorsement of the coaching wasn't exactly stellar.

Man I didn't hear anything about coaching..

If you bring Scotty Bowman in do their D all of the sudden not suck?
Does Couturier do anything useful on the ice?
Are L Schenn and Grossmann and other D guys any quicker?

Kimmo with a real strange interview.

Paraphrasing: We weren't terrible. They were great. They won a cup, went back to the finals. You guys say we're old and slow. You're wrong. They were better. We need to play better. We lost in every category today.

- hereticpride

I think he just wanted to point out how good the Bruins are, and how they outplayed the Flyers in every category.

that won't be enough, they need 2 dmen that can play on a top pair and they don't have the assets to land more than one unless they want to cripple their forward corps.
Going into next year Coburn is their top dman and he belongs on the 2nd pair, the rest are 3rd pair guys. Its not gonna get fixed overnight.

- BiggE

Coburn is fine on the top line or any line if he doesn't have to carry the offensive push. Get him a puckmover and I have little issue with him on the top line.

Yeah, he came around at the end and admitted as much that the team needs to improve but he sure seemed to deflect a lot of criticism early in the interview.

This is true, but they need to start fixing it by seeing what some of these younger players can do.

There's no reason to have no idea, if you're truly building for the future, to not have a clue if Lauridsen can play meaningful games at the NHL level, when you have Grossmann and Schenn struggling like this.

Waive Gill, get Lauridsen's arse up here, bench Grossmann or Schenn, and FIND OUT.

Maybe the market will ultimately enforce patience. They have some aging players, bad contracts, NTCs. They tried their best last year and still managed to get themselves a good draft pick. Since they are so bad, this might happen again for a couple of years and then we will either have good prospects or be able to offer something of value to teams to trade for stars. Bad decisions = tanking if there is no flexibility.

There seemed to be a lot of talk of practice tomorrow in the post game interviews. Hopefully the team shows up to the carnival.

agreed, though I'd keep Gill to mentor Lauridsen. I'd trade Grossmann to make room instead

He'll fetch something decent around the trade deadline. He's had a good career no need to let him go down with the ship.

Something, man -- I really like Grossmann's heart, his toughness.

But you can't keep playing him, if you're Berube. He's killing you. That mindless penalty he took, followed by Giroux's, set the tone for the entire game.

Gill/Lauridson wouldn't bother me in the lineup at this point if you can trade Grossmann to address another need.

Might be out of line but I'm fairly certain the tone with set by that point.

every player took a part in this today, there were no individuals to point the finger at, yes, some played worse then others, & some made mistakes that magnified because of pucks going in, like Grossman

I just wonder what they can realistically do to fix this, because band aid moves are not going to fix it, the coach had them playing better defense previously, but they have fallen back into old habits
