I would be happy with Marty teaching Poulin and Nilsson how to play the goal. As for him playing the goal, that race car is sadly on its way to the junkyard, at this point. No thanks. - dcb1
I agree and Marty should really end his career with the Devils. |

Sadly it will not be Suter or Parise. If the Isles do have to deal Vanek, I would not mind trading him in a package for goalie Martin Jones of the Kings. - ses111
If Vanek gets traded to Minn I would like Scandella and Coyle in return. |

I would think the Islanders would want a blue chip goalie or defenseman plus a #1 pick... |

I would think they might have to get a larger NHL contract back in addition to one of the guys you mentioned... |

I thought there was a lot of good buzz about Martin? Hard to tell with these Kings goalies. Is it the D of the Kings that make them soo good? I hope Vanek signs and we do not have to worry about trades. |

MSG had a special on the Rangers winning the Stanley Cup in 94...They interviewed all the broadcasters of the team including Howie Rose... Always thought he was a Rangers fan first... |

My first choice would be to sign Vanek. Isles would have to think about Subban in a package for Vanek. |

I'd make that deal right now. Cannot see Subban taking over with Rask in Boston. I'd still be surprised if Boston moved Subban for Amac. |

I would trade MacDonald for anyone of ANY value right now, before too many more scouts get to watch him play. |

No, only because the Islanders need help NOW at goalie,
I'd much rather trade for Lehner in Ottawa, Andersen in Anaheim, and MAYBE Jones in LA (LA has a steller defense that made Scrivens look amazing). Both teams can take Vanek's contract |

Well, I think Kvasha had more potential but I'm not sure I'd say he was 'way better'
Kvasha couldn't play defense at all, though Bailey hasn't either lately. Still, the numbers aren'tgood for either:
Kvasha 497gp 81g 136a 219pts (. 44ppg)
Bailey 378gp 63g 94a 157pts (. 42ppg)
If anything, these two had nearly identical stats.. Both played with no fire, wasted talents... |

If I could get a solid, long term goaltending solution, and maybe the second round pick back, that would be worth it, if there's no way Vanek will sign- he probably guarantees Anaheim the Cup, for one example... might even be worth the goalie and their first round pick to them. |

Bailey to me is more of a head case- he loses confidence easily. Kvasha was a lazy dummy...different issue. Bailey, with the right coach, might finally become good at SOMETHING. You can't fix stupid. |

A team who thinks by getting Vanek will put them over the top will be ones going hard after Vanek...it will interesting to see how this plays out... |

Vanek to Anaheim just makes so much sense, I actually think its going to happen if he doesn't resign.
In order I want
1) Vanek is traded then resigns in off-season!
2) Vanek resigns
3)Traded for Lehner and Stone/A good young close Ottawa Dman/Prospect
4)Traded or Andersen and Emerson/Good young close Anaheim Dman |
