That said, watch the Devils play. Look at the lineup they sport. Brodeur at this point really isn't a whole lot better than Nabokov, if at all. So why are they doing better than us? Because they are coached properly, that's why. They do what they are supposed to do on the ice. They bring players up from the minors, and they already know how to play. I could substitute the team in Detroit here, as well- even when they're bad, they're mediocre, not sh*te. This is what we need- uniform, professional expectations, and a cohesive, organization wide, successful game plan. Seems simple enough to me...just saying. |

It would take a real good goalie to play behind this lousy D. I see Ek has the Isles tied with the Blues on Miller. No way the Isles get Miler. I can see the Isles getting Halak. I just hope they do not give up a lot since Halak can walk as well. This idea of Miller is just crazy. I doubt he wants to go to the Isles and why would the Isles give up a lot for Miller? - ses111
I agree...Miller will cost a lot in prospects...I can see St. Louis getting Miller and the Islanders trading maybe AMAC for Halak...if you're going to trade prospects call Montreal. It looks the coach has had it with Subban. Maybe a Vanek, defensive prospect and Strome for Subban and another player trade... |

I Isles also need a goalie and 2 NHL defensemen...not Reinhart and Peloch who are at least two years away... |

If they have Miller, Vanek, and Subban, and Reinhart next year is rookie of the year, with this coach and this game plan, they will still give up 3-4 goals a game, and have to scratch and claw to make the playoffs- because the way they play is simply.....incorrect, I guess is the nicest word for it. |

Not saying it would be easy to play behind this defense. But league average sqve percentage is .912. The isles is .893. The islanders defense is that horrendous. It's been better the last 25 games. Plenty of teams have bad defenses. If the isles got .905 save pct, how many more wins would they have? It's costing them a playoff spot. |

The devils rank 15th in save percentage, we rank 29th. That's the difference. The isles as I said before should be a top 10 team in the NHL based on their goals for. And they aren't even close. While I agree capuano and our defense are sub par, the goaltending is horrendously bad. |

Coaching and the GM is also an issue...but as long as Snow is there he'll keep Cappy... |

No review is incredible. That was certainly a goal. Bt so was Vaneks. It's a (frank)ing joke and I'm still pissed the (frank) off. You can't convince me there wasn't bias or someone didnt have $ on that game. The call was that obviously flawed and everyone in the hockey world agrees, it wasnt even debatable. |

I'm not sure about plenty of teams having bad defenses? All I can say is I promise not to complain if the Isles bring in a quality goalie. |

By the way- Brodeur is pretty much done. No way I want him here. No better than what we have in Nabby- maybe not even as good, at this point... he has given up at least three sh*t goals today. Neither is Halak, judging from what I saw yesterday, but at least he'd be as good for when Nabokov gets hurt again. |

This could be interesting:
The relationship between Michel Therrien and P.K. Subban eroded just a little bit more last night when the Canadiens’ coach benched his star defenseman for more than 10 minutes with the game on the line. Mike Boone argues that it’s fine to hold Subban accountable for his mistakes, but Therrien seems to delight in picking on him while letting other culpable players off the hook. With Subban’s contract coming up this summer, there’s reason to think he might be looking for a way out rather than a home run. - kear20
They'll get rid of the coach before subban |

No way I trade Strome. I throw big money at a FA dman and play Reinhart and you have Hamonic and Dehaan. |

Brodeur and the Devils D looks brutal today. I'll pass on Brodeur. I'd love to get Hiller. |

Yes he is, but he also doesn't face 17 shots in the last 4 minutes of the third period, because his defensemen are trying to "activate" and " move the puck", instead of blocking shots, and cracking the puck off the dasher and out to center ice. Our defense is not good, and our goaltending is barely mediocre, but if our game plan was geared toward compensating for that, we'd have at least 5-10 more points right now. |

This! I'm tired of seeing the Islanders pass the puck back into their own zone and the two dmen pass the back and forth in front of their own net. What team does this? |
