We're about as excited about trading Gardiner and a 1st for Giordano as you are about trading Eberle for Phaneuf.

If you can work around a deal that doesn't involve key assets, then sure. For example the bouwmeester trade. Wasn't really a whole lot given up by them. Thats what the leafs would be looking at to trade. And whatever bouwmeester got, is practically what gio is worth

I think everyone is in agreement that Gio would Drastically improve the Leafs D and team in general. I am surprised however, that (unless there's a certain trolling aspect) people cannot understand the uncomfort of trading our draft picks and prospects, especially after fans from all other teams have told us for the past decade, this is why the Leafs will never become a good team again.

Well, everyone seems to disagree with me but I would do Gardiner for Gio...
On top of what he brings to the ice, he would bring leadership which the Leafs need.
Maybe Calgary takes Clarkson in the deal too...
