You`re still (frank)ed if you wouldn`t trade Gio for Gardiner straight up.
- The-O-G

Statement. No rebuttal. no arguement.

How about we make this simple...

Leafs fans will say "no"

Flames fans and the Oiler troll who I am going to love in the bum later, can say "yes".

No.

At Gardiner's age, Giordano wasn't even a full time NHLer yet.

Gardiner's potential is very high, if he can round out the other parts of his game.

Gio is what he is, and will be on the decline shortly.

Leafs are still years away from competing.

It just doesn't make sense for the Leafs.

I haven't seen a valid counter point to this yet..

exaggerating to make a point.

Gio is the better player, no doubt.

But with the Leafs years away from being serious contenders for the cup, and Gardiner's potential being as high as it is, the trade just doesn't make sense.

- Feeling Glucky?

No doubt. Younger teams would be silly to acquire veteran defensive help to make a push. It sure worked out terrible for Anaheim.

OK well call me crazy but I don`t think the Leafs are that far off from possibly doing some damage in the east.

Add in a top pairing D man, not to mention the intangibles that GIO brings and it wouldn`t surprise me.

- The-O-G

Thank you.

I disagree. The leafs are one of the youngest teams in the league and are nowhere near contending.

I don't see it happening at all in the next 7 or 8 years, not if Kessel and Phaneuf are our core 1-2 guys.

5-1 Colorado. Reimer pulled in the first.

No faith in the team extending the streak. I have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Other than Bolland (who is a player we needed) I don't think Nonis has traded youth for age and experience..

Thank you cap'n punctuation. Flames - rebuild, TIL - trying for P.O. Do you get how that works?
- TandA4Flames

Trying to make playoffs equates to sell of young talented assets? I guess if the goal was to just make the playoffs and never compete...

Ahhh tough minutes...

You mean like the toughest minutes of any NHL player that Phaneuf plays... and consistently gets called overrated by everyone?

- Aetherial

according to this corsi thing everyone loves, Phaneuf's got the 2nd highest quality of competition.

Weren't you guys lucky that Giordano EVER became Giordano?

Gardiner could be better, or could be what he is now for the rest of his career.

He has been working with Torontos intangibles coach though. He will have the same if not MORE intangibles by the time he is 31. You can take that to the bank.

Are you seriously still pushing that idiocy?

But yes, trade us Gio. They have Gardiner, who will without question be better.

- sanfordnson

Never once claimed that Gardiner was gonna be better..Just not willing to give him up just yet...

U seem to be pretty certain that he wont...Thats Up to u...

Is it really that hard to understand that some leafs fans not interested in trading Youth and picks??

Jesus, you're as bad as the guy using +/- in his argument.

Tell me again why Giordano isn't leading the Flames to the promised land.

We would love to have Giordano on the team. I doubt you could find a Leafs fan to say otherwise.

The fact that you draw that conclusion contrary to what was CLEARLY said, blows my mind.

Yea, it's not like Anaheim had any top vets before Pronger came along...

And are we really comparing Gio to Pronger?
Really?
