Yea, but they're rebuilding, and get a very good young piece on the back end, for some guys who won't be around when the team is half decent.
So they don't mind it too much.
flamers. - Feeling Glucky?
Yea, so we should just give away our assets because we are rebuilding. We don't mind/care.
If Gardiner is so good, how come he's not Leading you to the promised land. |

hey guys.. thoughts on overuse of emoticons?
more than 5 results in a 4 hour break.. i think i am going to implement that in the leaf threads. - Dozzer
I know women who wouldn't go through 5 different emotions during the course of typing one post. 3 or 4 definitely, but not 5 - that's extreme. |

I don`t actually want to do the deal at all, if you read back. I was just making a joke.
But to your point, let me phrase it this way: If Giordano is so good, how come he`s not Leading you to the promised land.
See how stupid that sounded? Especially with the period where the question mark should be? |

The way Glucky feels about Gardiner and with the poster on his ceiling...Jake is leading Gluck to the promised land most nights. - Woderwick
I'm not even that big of a Gardiner fan... I can see him getting traded.
I just wouldn't do it with a 1st round pick for a 30 year old defender when the Leafs aren't in a position to make good use of that guy, it's just bad asset management. |

exactly. Before I realized he was trying to scam me, I offered just to pay the bumper if he left the insurance company out of it.
He told me he wanted to do things properly, and asked me if I was crazy.
Next day, he tells me he wants me to pay that money and has back pain.
I tell him I know he's trying to screw me, and that I'm going to inform the insurance company that somebody is trying to make a fraudulent claim, and since we both were with the same company, they'd look at it seriously.
He told me he didn't want to go through insurance anymore and that I was making things difficult.
I told him I was just trying to do things properly, and he got pissed.
I was happy. - Feeling Glucky?

Sorry Dozzer. Have supported you before, but you're wrong on this one.
Gio will make the Leafs better, but the team is still a few years from being a solid contender (if we even make it that far).
In doing so, you don't flip a 23 year old defenceman in Gardiner for a 30 yr old in Gio. You make deals that allow a core to grow together. If you're flipping Gardiner, it's for another player in a nearby age range with comparable skill and potential to become more. Prime example, was Schenn for JVR. Both struggling, both similar in age, flipped for one another. Schenn busted, JVR excelled, those are the breaks, but it could've worked out for both teams if Schenn regained his form from his rookie year. |

Trust me that would never happen...Gardiner is 23 Gio is 30, Gards has 4 goals Gio has 7. Gardiner has 12 assists Gio has 15...the stats are close offensively and Gardiner will be much better offensively in the future...also the stat that i think matters more for a defense man is plus minus...Gio is -2 and Gards is even and most people think that Gardiner is to irresponsible defensively but Gardiner still has a better plus minus... - BoTtLePoLiCe
Where should I start?
Giodano has 22 points in 32 games.....0.69 points per game
Gardiner has 16 points in 49 games.....0.33 points per game
I am not saying Gardiner doesn't have a ton of offensive talent....but right now Gio is more than doubling Gardiner's production...
Gio is -2 on a team with the second worst goal differential in the league (-48) which the Leafs are only -9. And not only does he play on a horrid team, he leads that team in AVG ice time. Not only that, but he constantly faces the other teams top lines, making the fact that he is -2 a borderline fcking miracle.
Not only that but he also plays in all situations (both PP and SH) and is a shot blocking machine............
Shame on you

Typically, I would agree...
But Gardiner for Gio is an exception to that rule in my mind. |

I think he's traded, too. And Franson will be dealt at the draft before he can declare for arbitration.
Just realized what the conversation was about, and no I don't think it will be for Giordano. |

they're still 2, 3 years away from making a serious run, IMO. - Feeling Glucky?
So by your logic, by the time you're ready to compete, Phaneuf will be 31 and Kessel will be 2nd ( and too old.
If yoh guys are going to maximize opportunity with those 2 these are the kind of trades hou need to make now. 50 years of futility seems to have you all frightened about trading. |
