I'm not gonna lie. I enjoy watching this team win a couple games instead of lose a couple. God bless that 1st line.

My opinion is that Calgary gets buttsecksed on that deal.

Hard to buttsuck Burke...if he is making the decisions.. unless he loves his own work in To and wants a Franson or Gardiner etc... and we know he loves his own work

Colin is asking how to even that deal out........I think everyone would agree that's a lopsided deal.

I think with Glen X and Gio the Leafs could stand a chance in the East for the next few seasons. Both UNREAL contracts as well.

well thats the framework, there is some tweaking needed to make it fair/cap compliant...just wanted to see what fans from each side thought....clearly tough for people to consider both sides of the equation when discussion these things....

Colin, if that trade were possible, I think Nonis would do it without a doubt.
Upgrade on both defense and offense, as well as ridding yourself of a TERRIBLE contract.

Let me ask this question....

Would the Leafs fans like Gardiner and a First for Giordano?

No because to my original point, the Leafs aren't a Giordano or Glencross away from contending. Might as well stay the course with younger players.

I think a Giordano/Phaneuf combo on the backend would make you better than you might imagine.

I GIO...
But I wouldn't do a first with Gardiner...I would do Gardiner and a B prospect (Biggs, McKegg) for Gio.

Really eh.....

I think the Leafs would be a significantly better team with Giordano.

The East is weak too....I don't think the Leafs are all that far off....and it's not like Gio doesn't have 4-5 good years left, and his cap hit is unreal.

Don't you think Gio would make the backend a lot better though? Gardiner is a maybe. Giordano is a yes. However you feel about potential, it's still just potential. Giordano is right now good.

Yea, but they're rebuilding, and get a very good young piece on the back end, for some guys who won't be around when the team is half decent.

So they don't mind it too much.

flamers.

Gio is only 30yrs old...he has a LOT of good hockey left in him and would solidify the defense. Gardiner and something small for Gio would be a great trade for the Leafs - short and long term.
