The argument could be made that they allow more shots against when they're winning, and are sitting back defensively.


But we know that's not true. They get outshot 12-0 in the first 10 minutes before they remember they have to play.

No, they'll probably just move on to another 3rd world region with lots of unskilled laborers who just want a steady wage.

They've been doing it for a while... once the countries they're in improve enough, they just ditch everything, and open up new factories somewhere else.

In south america, locals actually keep running those factories for themselves.

Despite all the crap globalization causes, over the long run, a lot of 3rd world areas are left with infrastructure decades ahead of what they'd have on their own. Up to them to figure out what to do with it.

yeah...well I know my buddy went to work in Alberta, shacked up in lower living standards for awhile just to bank as much cash as he could and come back to Ontario...says youll just blow all your cash on living costs etc if you were to try and live up there...unless of course you're making 6 figures or more

rent was way cheaper in medicine hat than anything I ever paid in Halifax. not even close. gas is to obviously.. I don't really notice much of a difference with anything else.

I think the living costs are a bit of a myth. if you're not in Edmonton, Calgary, fort mac.. and in the smaller cities like medicine hat, red deer, lethbridge.. I don't think it's any different than the rest of Canada. maybe even cheaper..

10.25 is minimum wage here in Ontario.

you can hire a full factory crew for that in 3rd world countries. And in terms of purchasing power, they might even be getting paid better than their Ontario counterparts.

what unions have forgot is that their primary job was to ensure safe working conditions for the employees.

somewhere along the lines they started to put too much emphasis on wage increases forgetting that companies are answerable to their share holders. if the share holders are not getting the returns they would like to see, they will pull their investment and put it some place else.

this means that the companies are forced to raise prices.. because if they cant maintain profit margins they lose the investment capital and eventually go bankrupt.

the thing i say that shuts most people up when they cry foul about this kind of thing is to simply ask them what their RRSP portfolio looks like.

most of them dont even realize that when companies like Kelloggs and Ford save money it benefits their own retirement saving portfolio.. its kind of laughable really.

score effects... thats not an argument that needs to be made.. it happens to all team..its just the leafs are the extreme case that gets pounded and has trouble holding a lead.

thats why fancy stats 5v5 close is used to see how you played, you generally get outshot when leading

been present for two deaths in my career. one was a guy caught near the shale shaker without a mask on.

the other was a well tester that had a valve blow through his chest. the idiots had a stabbing valve on top of the wellhead and didn't bother bleeding off before they sent this kid in too open it up. Still amazed he managed to even get it open.

I realize that statement probably makes no sense to anyone, but trust me, it was gross negligence at best. Heads rolled and now everyone has to equalize with nitrogen. Stupid.

Red Deer isnt too bad. You can still live pretty good here, even as a 1st year apprentice or green patch hand. It won't stay that way though. The coming Joffre expansion will eliminate all that.
