Meszaros is still just a throw in on a trade, right? I know recently he's been hot. I know he's always had talent. That being said, he's got a history of injuries and he's a free agent at the end of the season. Perhaps a team with a bloated cap figure would be interested, but I dunno.
His second goal of the night against the Isles last weekend was a beauty, though. Nice fake to circumvent his defender. - Hesh_
he is a couple notches above a throw in, Hal Gill on the other hand meets the defintion of a throw in.

MAN ! I would LOVE TO LIVE ON, FANTASY ISLAND with most of you Sabers fans !
It must be nice thinking, you're gonna get 2 A+ prospects in Jaskin, Allen, or Rattie ! HELL, I've even see as much where some of you even think on top of the combination of 2 names previously mentioned, that you guys would also get one of Schwartz, or Tarasenko, & a 1st round pick ! THAT'S ABSURD ! You guys do realize that he's a UFA RIGHT ? I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD, OR HOW GREAT HE IS, YOU'RE NOT GETTING THAT KIND OF RETURN !
In closing, if you guys keep thinking along those lines, you're setting yourselves up for a real disappointing time during your REBUILD ! - Richard_Cranium
Just hoping our re-build ends with a cup this time around. How is the REBUILD The Blues started back in 2005 going?

Sorry He will go further west if anything. If he is already in house that gives you the best chance to resign him. - Maximum Signal
I agree, I would try like heck to get him myself but I'm not giving up a king's ransom when you don't have to.
It's always better to get a guy in house and then you have exclusive negotiating rights to him for that time frame.
And if he came to St. Louis, he would sign on to stay here. He would not find a better fit. |

The option you have to weigh is what is Miller signing an extension worth leting go.
He is going to command a hefty salary. Even with the cap going up it would be difficult for STL to sign him to a $7MM contract and keep every piece of that team. |

I don't think a first and a good prospect/young player is that much to give up for Miller(plus halak just for salary dump).
I think he would do wonders for your team. Not only because hes a better goalie than Halak/Elliot, but mentally it would be huge. Show all the players that management is dedicated to winning a cup. |

fine fine fine....
Buffalo won't take one of your precious cornerstone franchise pieces...
I would happily take Oshie/Berglund/Stewart for Miller and a conditional pick.

Halak+MPS+Conditional 1st.
Done deal. - ImThatGuy
Why?
Halak is just a plug.... MPS is a 3rd liner with a small chance at being a 2nd liner.. and a 26+ 1st rounder....
that is garbage. |

The Sabres need a goalie in return
MPS is still young and has rarely been given a chance at top line minutes
1st rounder can be used in another trade to acquire assets or used to move up in the draft.
Picture this the Sabres have picks 1, 8, 26 in this years draft.
picks 8 & 26 can be used in a deal to move up to top 5 possibly 3-4 |

I just don't see it. that pick of STL is gonna be so late that is is basically a 2nd rounder.
I don't think you could bundle 8 and 26+ to move up 4 or 5 spots. |

Agree and that is the real issue with getting a nice return on him in a trade even if you think having him "In House" would make it easier for negotiation he is still gonna want a huge paycheck at 33yrs old. I still think a team like Detroit could be a factor when it is all said and done. Something like Howard and a 1st and let them worry about the new contract. |

I DONT KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT!
Honestly i think asking poing could be:
Halak+MPS+ Conditional 1st
Miller (30% salary retained) - ImThatGuy
Now that is reasonable ! If, the Blues would have to add a 2nd, or a 3rd & 4th to that deal, it'd be worth it !
Just not one of the following : Allen, Jaskin, Rattie, or Schwartz, Tarasenko ! |

Berglund or Oshie....
and we can even give you Grigorenko...
Halak, Oshie, and a cond. 1st
for
Miller, Grigo, and the Wild's 2nd rounder. |

That's what i've been trying to say ! What does he really want ? Does he want term, or the money, or both ? Will he even like it here, even with the team that the Blues would be able to ice in front of him ?
With all of that said, & I'm sure there are more questions to ask . But, that's the big reasons for not even going anywhere near the likes of, Allen, Jaskin, Rattie, Schwartz, & Tarasenko . |

No one will pay him anywhere close to $7M.
Good grief. |

You can take Berglund . Because, if Oshie is in that deal, it would be a lot more than just Minnesota's 2nd rounder .
Oshie is a huge piece of the Blues core ! Not saying Berglund isn't, he just doesn't have the impact that Oshie does on this team . |

Following the Goalie market lately? You better brush up on it. He gets 7 - 7.5 based on what has been shelled out for others. |

Just keep thinking like that and you can see your favorite team at a local golf course during the Stanley cup finals . Maybe you can meet them in the clubhouse to watch the game together ! No one expects you to break up the current Roster to get Miller . Quit making things up Newbie.

Did you lose a bet where you have to add this sentence to everything you post. Because, seriously, you come off sounding like Rainman. |
