Soooo, have not been able to see the past couple games. Is Colbourne still at wing? If so, how is he doing? |

Thanks Colin. I was about to swear off these attempts for good. Almost threw my phone. |

Yea good stuff by Colborne. At the very least, it seems obvious he's working on stuff. Who knows maybe have a legit player on our hands. |

Colin, sometimes your blogs go off in different directions & I find myself wondering what your point is. ie. Monahan. In one sentence you say we shouldn't be counting on his goals, then you say he needs to score. The kid is on target to score at least 20 goals, that's freaking fantastic for a 19 year old. My Lord, we don't see that too often in Flame country. Where is Stajan, Stempniak, Galiardi, Jones? These are the vets we are wanting to groom our young guys with? They cant even get a whiff of the net. I watched one bit of the 2nd where the Jets were cycling & Stempniak was just standing up by the blueline for the whole shift. I'm sorry, the panel are right, Flames need to have a firesale of every UFA coming up &get as much possible & then roll some of these returns into maybe some almost NHL ready kids that just need a chance they aren't getting on some of these other teams like Gardiner & Runblad & I'm sure we can find a few others. If we need $$$ to reach the floor, just over pay a few vets on 2-3 year deals in July & we can get some new fresh pilons to whine about. Back to my point, I finished reading your blog & I felt a negative tone of disappointment with Monahan. I don't think we should be disappointed at all with him, he may not win a Calder but he has had a great start to a long NHL career. |

Well said! It's too bad he got hurt, he would be up there with MacKinnon in points. |

Is this the vote to win or just to be a finalist ? - Redmile247
I think this round just makes up the top 10. I'm gonna vote for gillies, and arnold a few more times, maybe agostino if he has a chance to make the cut. 3 or 4 prospects in the top ten make our prospect pool look that much better
, and give us that much more of a chance of a flame winning
Edit: I think Gillies needs the most help right now...If Gaudreu somehow doesn't win I think he (being arguably the top goalie in college hockey) has the 2nd best chance of winning (out of flames prospects). |

To be honest what Monahan has done (even with being injured) is just as if not more impressive than Mackinnon to me. Maybe because i'm biased but at the same time Mackinnon is surrounded by top level talent on a winning team, Monahan is doing the same thing on a less than stellar team that's losing a lot of games. Not to take credit away from Mackinnon, the guy is having a really good first season and he's a great player. |

In my eyes its between Mackinnon, Barkov, Monohan, and Jones for the Calder. All are straight out of junior, and with the exception of Mackinnon are playing on less than stellar teams. (Jones has Weber, but the fact that he's on the top pairing is an accomplishment in itself). |

I think if it was decided today Jones would get it. |
