Petry - XXXXX
XXXX - Schultz
Ference- Marincin
Larsen

If those two were Ehrhoff and Coburn and we get the kind of goaltending Bryz is giving us now, I can't see us out of the playoffs next year. Only problem is, I don't think Gagner + 1st + whatever prospects gets you both of those guys....

I have been thinking about Markov on a 2-3 yr deal more and more lately in free agency. Girardi is the big fish though.

Lahey seems to think Girardi is about to break down Volchenkov style.

All the more reason to do something crazy like two years, 12 million total and then let him walk when younger guys are ready to step up.

Why not offer Subban a whole poop load when he is RFA. (frank) the assets that we loose. Either we get one hell of a defender or we essentially screw MTL over for the time being. Assuming he does make it to the off season as a RFA.

I agree that both those players would help immensely, but why do u think they ll even reach free agency?

It's possible. But noway he signs 2x6. Worth it or not, this is the lunacy of NHL free agency, and that boy is getting paid and laid.

Nothing is worse then the way buffalo has handled Grigorenko, but i feel your pain
Depres will be a top 4 guy for someone in a year or two, frustrating it prob wont be here ... for some reason disco does not like him

- Brianandr1

I'd take a chance on him. I've always thought highly of him. Just not sure what kind of a trade value to put on a player like him at this point though

Based off what Subban reportedly wants from MTL (8-9mill) based off the Phaeuf contract, I have a good feeling that negotiations will reach the offseason.

Yeah if he reaches free agency he might get 5-6 over 5-6

I wonder if we signed PK to a 2 year 18 million dollar offer sheet whether we'd get him.

I suspect the Oilers might shy away from any offer sheets for some time.

I always thought you were cool.

Actually I'm not sure. A lot of posters that don't have profile pictures blend together for me.

- Morris

Picking a profile pic comes with a lot of pressure. Should it be something funny, pens related, meaningful? These are the questions I haven't been able to answer in my 5 years here. Hence the reason no picture

Yeah I don't think they'll use that route again. It's essentially become something only desperate GMs do. At the very least, I think our Petry and Schultz RFA negotiations should be a breeze this summer. Ditto for Arco, Pitlick, Lander, Fedun, Gazdic, Horak and Larsen.

I used to have something else, but now I can't remember it. I've been meaning to change it, but I'm under that same kind of pressure.

agreed but the canadians only two d men under contract next season are gorges and emelin... i have to believe they will match any offer ... m
not sure that organization can take the neg publicity hit... girardi much more possible ... Rangers have big decisions to make ... Callahan wants 5 mil per... thats alot for a third line winger regardless of his leadership skills

Despres sitting. Not a fan of this. Nobody aside from Letang really had a good game on the back end. Maatta was steady I suppose. I don't care how it was...he needs to be back in again.

Glad to see Engelland back down on the 4th line again though.

I'd be willing to offer 4 years at 6 million to Girardi. That and a 7 year @ 8.5 mill offer sheet for Subban. With the salary cap going up we could easily afford it and we would have a legit 1st pairing. Pipe dream though cause their GM's are crazy if they let either of them get to free agency.

I find most 'Team' related Avy's are lame. I mean ,do really want an avy that says your the greatest fan boy ever? You got that one putz, 87&71 something or other, who has a shirtless Crosby with a towel around his neck. Nothing wrong with homo eroticism, but that is the image he projects. The best ones are ones where you can imagine a voice attached.

Sorry, I didn't mean teams in a desperate situation I meant desperate GMs trying to keep their job.

I think MacT sees himself as having a need to make urgent moves but with a little time to do so.

I'm hoping for a great game and somehow between the energy in these two teams I think we will.
