shouldn't it matter more than a tourney from four years ago? He's had injury issues since then, been on a playoff team once in his whole career and teams he is on have a funny way of becoming worse.
I know I know, he's there and you were right. I just for the life of me do not get why many think Rick Nash is so good. I would have slotted Hall in before him and I didn't expect Hall to make it. I think Stevie is just kind of in "aint broke dont fix it" mindset. - TheTaoOfSemenko
If you watch him, you would know he's dominant and without a question one of the top wingers in yhe game. His combination of size, strength, speed, hands, skating, and shot is all elite. Its unfair to dismiss his entire career on a 15 game slump. |

I didn't dismiss his entire career. I've watched Nash for years in the west well before he went to NY. He's big and has skills sure. He also took his team to the playoffs precisely once and played at an actual PPG level only once. He drives the net well and provides some size but is not some two-way marvel. He is maybe one of the top 10 wingers in the game, and thats a big maybe. If he wasn't on Broadway you wouldnt give a rats ass and you sure wouldnt be defending him. |

Seabrooke was the only surprise omission for me. - robin_steele264

Actually, before the trade nash was considered to be a top 5 player in the entire nhl whos talent was rotting away in Columbus. After the trade and a near ppg season, he is now the most overrated declining 29 year old forward in history. |

Rangers: better with Nash? or without? - TheTaoOfSemenko
This is a loaded question. The rangers overachieved the year before trading for him with hank iwinning the vezina, richards eperforming, and gaborik ahaving a career year. The trade isnt what made the rangers regress so much, it was the complete disappearance of gaborik and richards along with letting prust, fedetenko, and mitchell walk as ufas. |

Nash will play on the 4th line as an energy guy with Marleau and Bergeron/Tavares? playing limited minutes - he'll be good defensively and could be a factor offensively, but on this team as a 4th liner, IMO we really shouldn't have too much of an issue with Nash being on this team. |

They also eviscerated their depth to acquire him. Honestly, it strikes me as the NHL equivalent of the Carmelo Anthony trade. |

You can deny it, but its pretty true. Nash was godlike until howson publically expressed his demands and then everyone started saying nash isnt worth that, he's overrated, and that ryan is a better player. |

It was a 2 for 1 deal in terms of nhl roster players. Dubi and anisimov...dubi was struggling and.had.the worst season of his career and arty was great but not even comparable to nash. It wasthe free.agency blunders that destroyed our depth. The melo trade...the knicks actually traded 5 starters for him. |

The Carter pick bothers me more than Nash. I will say Nash looked good in Vancouver.......but Carter over Staal.....blows my mind. |

Just struck me as similar. both teams gave up depth for superstars but regressed. Are you guys sick of Slats yet? |

Gonna admit that it bothers me a lot more than Nash. Just more entertainment to be had with Nash. |

No - he was great with Toews in 10'. I'm guessing they'll put him with Sharpe and Toews …at least in pencil. |

I dont really mind sather, but 80% of the fanbase is. Hes the best in the league at rfa deals, see stepan and mcdonagh and zuccarello, but terrible at ufa signings. However he always mmanages to fix his ufa mistakes and his trading ability is sublime. |
