I'd take Seabs over Hamhuis every day of the week, but I'm glad Seabs will get some rest, and maybe some motivation.
- Ogilthorpe2

Completely agree. Also like to think that this is Seabs punishment for Game 7 vs. DET....haha.

I think the Hawk plan at this juncture is to project Teravainen as centre, and as the eventual 2nd line centre.

He doesn't walk in and win that job, based on World Junior, lousy F-O % or never meeting an NHL board.

If the kid is so good that he can't be sent down to Rockford because he is heads better than anyone there, and guys on the parent club, he gets a chance to play.

I have seen many a talented skilled quick handed forward brought in to major league clubs and goobled up...losing confidence, second guessing whether they actually play at the level, without the frame having the developed muscle strength to play all phases.

I really don't care what TT's take on staying and playing in Finland or not playing in the AHL...those comments are a kid answering questions naively...oh so similar to Mark McNeill on draft day answering a soft ball question with, "Yes, I think I can work hard and make the Hawk roster in the Fall."

Not trying to compare abilities here, but McNeill already has a NHL type muscle mass but obviuosly not the offensive savvy of TT...

The one thing TT does have going for him is he could easily play on a 4th line, or even an energy 3rd line without really embarrassing himself defensively in the bigs.

I just think opinions on making rosters prove to be a waste of time until the projected actually perform to projection.

Wiz,

Thanks for having the experience to throw some water on expectations....I sit on my hands because I don't want to come off as a downer but at some point you have to call a spade a spade.

TT looks like a steal but as EJ Hradek mentioned on NHL Network yesterday this tourney is only a snap shot.

Some players who look great in the tourney never amount to anything in the NHL others who were not noticeable have long successful careers.

It always matters who you play against and playing versus men is different, and playing against men in the NHL is a lot different.

Just like skille for USA. I'm beginning to think those weren't great draft choices

Back to the Blackhawks, the lines in practice appear to be the same as before:

10-19-81
23-26-88
29-65-20
52-16-28

Can we even refer to him as a "prospect?" I was thinking he's more of an experiment that didn't pan out.

Speaking of Kyle Beach too bad Nigeria doesn't have a team. I'm sure Aliu would be on it.

Really? Damn. I bet there are a lot of interesting stories there. I still don't know the true story with the infamous food fight. What happened?

Good for Sharp
Seabs though i/we love him, likely would have been torched on the big ice
Crow could use the extra rest both physically and mentally

- philco28

I appreciate Seabrook, but he's been getting beat up the ice pretty good the last couple of years. He seems like there's a hitch in his gate or he's just lost a step. I'm not crappin' on Seabs, because he's come up big in other areas. Don't anyone get their britches in a bunch, please.

Thornton is a tough guy to leave off, just because of size and playmaking ability. They opted for speed though. I really don't understand why everyone gets a boner over Rick Nash. Jeff Carter was a bit of a surprise for me.

Beach injured him in a fight during training camp. I think Olimb was out for the first couple of months of the season after that.

That was still a bush-league move by Beach bullying the kid. Didn't he break his arm?

This is a fine opinion and to a certain extent I share it. But I would like to say that great players, and more to the point, players who have potential to be great are more easily raised toward their potentials when playing with... great players! One advantage the Blackhawks have beyond their rich farm system is that stepping into the NHL on a line with Toews or Hossa, or both (Saad) can allow a more rapid development into a higher level.

I would think that the kid TT might be able to shine a little brighter, a little more easily, because of the strength in the Blackhawks top 6. That is all.

Nash can really dominate when he is on his game, but injuries have really taken their toll. I'm shocked at Thornton. I'm torn on Carter. He has that really long reach and can be effective. Most are still shocked at no Martin st. Louis
