I have M.E. Vlasic as that someone: http://hockeyindependent.com/blog/ty_cam/53399/

Hawks got a first hand look at him on the Sharks stingy defensive play last night.

He really has become a solid D-Man

11am EST with a healthy 1 hour pre-game show here in Canada on TSN. Not sure what it is in the US.

Thanks. I'm sure nhl network will have it's 10th straight re-run of Nhl Tonight

Agreed Al. Hamhuis might take his spot because of that and Seabs is a better overall D and leader IMO than Hamhuis... tough call.
- TyCamScore

In my view it should be a choice between Hamhuis and Subban...

Seabrook should be in before Subban, Hamhuis and Giordano.

Lackluster Hawks fall to SJ 3-2 in a shootout. Bickell benched in 3rd period-

It is amazing how much money things cost now. Even the movies. I don't know how families can go to games. Watching in the comfort of my own home is fine with me

Pickles? really? The guy isn't a scrub but if he is on Team Canada, they aren't as deep on D as most Canadians think they are.

I always give grief to my Blues fans friends because it seems like the Blues sell out on when Chicago or Detroit is in town. They argue that the tickets are way too high now. Hockey used to be a blue collar sport. Now, it families are priced out of going to games. They say only yuppies and trust fund hipsters are the only ones who can afford to go to games. Part of me agrees with them, but I also seem remember that the Blues nearly moved to Saskatoon in the 80s.

Lived in St. Louis for 11 years. When you live there that long you tend to accumulate Cards and Blues fans as friends (no one is a Rams fan anymore.)

It is one thingto go to a couple of games, but you really do need to be rich to go to a bunch of games. Especially with a couple of kids. I didn't know that about the Blues moving. Makes sense. I can still see it.

If you want NHL calibre insurance on the front line, then investigate M Backlund.

I mentioned his name a while ago, even asking Calgary hockeybuzz if Morin would be acceptable in return.

There is no rush or dire need to acquire a good skating, young skilled but unproductive (offensively that is) Frolic replacement. Calgary fans (and Burke too?) keep repeating this word: draft choices. I say we could decide to surrender a prospect and swap a first for a second. But is Backlund worth it?

Backlund makes so little coin that it is only maybe one mill over salary cap to acquire him. The closer to trade deadline the more affordable in salary cap dollars BUT the more expensive will be his price tag, i.e. renumeration.

Backlund has been giving 20 TOI gritty effort this season. A fairly high #1, his hometown fans have said they are willing to wait and hopefully see some offensive production from Mr Backlund.

In the meanwhile I am desiring always as plausible better skating and depth. A solid pk contribution from Backlund is foreseeable. As for prospects, most in Rockford are going to become bottom line fillers around the core guys here in CHG. While I am never a fan of wanting to deal prospects, it makes sense here also when this would allow Handzus to be spotted and often merely press box reserve.

Pirri or Danault would.possibly interest Burke and appease their fan base, a weary fan base long time praying for a genuine.offensive center to land in Calgary.

I do not know how Backlund rates in the face off dot. Sure right now prevailing opinion is that Bowman makes no moves or little tweaking in player movement.

Yes, Nordstrom happens to be scoring more than expected. I would suggest we do not need both Danault and Nordstrom eventually in CHG. McNeill and one of those two. But alas who knows what Burke has set his sight on. By this I mean in rebuilding he wants a certain return for a Backlund; who knows what that would be.

The McDonald from NYI idea would give us another dman. You need lots of.dmen to survive in playoffs. I bet his price tag would be increased in a bidding war. The AHL Dahlbeck is our extra extra dman.

Burke probably wants someone more goonish than anyone Chicago has to offer.

So, you want a guy who can't crack the line-up on a rebuilding team and insert him into a Cup contender? I think you answered you're own question.

If we get to Dahlbeck, things have gone horribly wrong injury wise. McDonald is a legit top 6 D-man. For this season, I say roll with what we have.
