Capacity was only about 35,000 before all that.

Temporarily take out the seats on the third base side.

I used to go to Bears games at Cubs Park with my dad - he had tickets about third row upper deck first base side, looking right between the goal posts. Great seats. That was the end zone where the corner was actually about a foot into the first base dugout - and the end zone was supposedly only 8 yards deep. Each end zone was at most a yard fro the wall.

Talk about intimate experience.

When they moved to Soldier Field, they put my dad on the 20 yard line down low - terrible seats.

Baseball teams don't want any more than about 40,000 seats - they want to create an urgency for tickets so they get a big advance sale and more season tickets.

The Indians used to play in Municipal Stadium - 80,000 for baseball. No one bought seats in advance: they'd wait for the day of the game, knowing there would always be good walk-up seats.

Almost all of the new baseball parks are 40,000-45,000.

A major problem for football; potentially (if not, at this point, in actuality) a major problem for hockey, too.
