It is going to cost a hell of a lot more than a mere #1 at 30 or there abouts for a perennial 30 goal scorer my friend. No way in hell Sabres make that move unless Shero swweetens the pot considerably.
And Moulson & Ott to Montreal? Galchenyuk starts the conversation..as an opener. So add to it from there, not some retred 35 year olds either..young solid A prospects.
Buffalo would like to hold onto both these guys to mentor all the young guns coming up in next 3 years - IonSabres
How about we add Price, Subban and Gallagher with that? Would that be enough?

yeah, I don't see the Sabres moving Ott or Moulson. Other teams can covet them all they want, doesn't mean Buffalo is going to move them. |

The Habs have a future elite Center in Galchenyuk, Sabres don't have the assets to offer Montreal, I doubt few teams could offer enough to get him. |

keeping them for what purpose? They can be the worst team in the league without them... maybe ott if they plan to resign him, nut Moulson???? Why would nt they trade him for a prospect or pick?

guys, I don't want to be mean or anything... i'm not speculating, i'm telling you, we aren't trading Derrick Pouliot.
We have a lot of other d prospects who are lower than he is. Pouliot is a guy who this team feels could be ready to play in the NHL next year.
I like moulson, but if that is the price your team will ask for, expect Ray Shero to laugh and hang up.
and we have the best record against the west. i'm sorry, but moulson isn't worth it to pay that much of a price. there are cheaper alternatives out there that will get the job done. - SuperHenderson13
This^^...
IMO Pouliot makes Letang supremely tradeable in 3 years.... and at 7.25 AAV with the cap possibly up near 80 million at that point.... Shero could get an absolute haul just as Crosby and Malkin are approaching 30. |

As laughable as you're "rumors" are Ek, I gotta give credit where credit is due. I respect the poop out of consistency. The fact that throughout all the years I've been on this site, you're STILL shoving Brodeur trade rumors down peoples throats is admirable.
If people are thick enough to believe it, why not? Why fix what isn't broken. Keep doing your thing bro. |

Buffalo won't have much of a chance if they don't want to sign long term in Buffalo. Also, Buffalo will get far more on the open market for Steve Ott than the value he brings to them. He's overrated and overvalued by Sabres fans. Window-licking third liners. |

Probably not going to happen, but I'd love to see the following deal:
Steve Ott, Ville Leino and Christian Ehrhoff to the Rangers for Brad Richards, Ryan Callahan and Michael Del Zotto. Ehrhoff's best days were running the PP for AV in Vancouver. Ott would help replace the grit and leadership of Callahan, who may be going home to Buffalo as an overpriced UFA in the offseason anyways. Buffalo is going to be willing to pay through the nose for FAs, just to get to the cap floor... let alone toward the limit... and Pegula is not afraid to overpay, especially for a local product. Leino's contract is the lesser (significantly) of the 2 evils in comparison to Richards' deal. Financially (if nothing else), it would make sense for the Rangers while significantly upgrading their blueline. |
