pens dont need a 7th, 8th, 9th d-man. hence the idea of moving one out for a forward. - ChrisMS
Fair enough, but a straight up deal would be good trade, really its the Avs issue what do with their lower pairing guys. Either send them down or trade them off at the deadline |

send one down see if they make it through waivers. your lossing them either way |

Barrie is on a 2 way deal so he would be the easiest to send down but I wouldnt want them to do that bc he actually has been really promising with his time up. |

lots of cap room, already carrying 8 dman right now, adding another 1 would have to cause some shuffling. So moving a guy like Benoit on a 1 year 900k deal or Guenin a 1 year 600k deal would be preferred with McGinn.
I dont want them to demote Barrie but if was a straight up deal, thats the move the Avs would make
Im sure we would take a guy like Glass or even your new waiver wire pick Pyatt to help - DDM-Coga
I thought so. I hear what you're saying. Maybe the best solution is to just move one of those two in a separate deal or put one on waivers. I think Shero would be okay with taking someone on if it was lower end in order to make that happen...but if he wasn't then waivers or a separate deal may be best. |

Ditto. It is Rob Rossi though...I usually defer to Josh Yohe or Dave Molinari in these speculative situations. - HopintheCordoba
Rossi stinks. Bum. |

I knew I wasn't the only one who didn't really care for his reporting.

yup, adding another D would give us 9 up with the big club. Benoit is cheap and isnt useless so he could be good for you guys as a 7th dman. - DDM-Coga
We don't need another D man. To me, you do. While you have nine, six of them are worse than Niskanen IMO.

Interesting thing to me from the wonderful ESPN article was the coaching staff's love for Oshie. Would love to see him with Kunitz and Crosby, but unfortunately St. Louis is also not a good trading partner - they don't particularly need defense. |

And more importantly no interest in moving Oshie. Trading Perron was an exclamation point on their satisfaction with Oshie. |
