This is wrong Tavares is on a poop team has been out played by hall in every year of their careers (Ex/21v21) and hall at his ppg pace would be 3rd in scoring without missing games
- Oilers42

Tavares outplayed by Hall every year? Really? What about 2011/12 season when Hall had 53pts and JT had 81?
Not to mention, JT has to create everything himself, while Hall has Ebs and/or Nuge to play with.

Can't wait to see Duchene play on big ice. I feel like his game is perfect for international play...

I was kinda worried at the start because he was having absolutely no puck luck, and they were playing awful.

But that dude is back to playing like what he is: A Top 10 player in the best league in the world.

Ek didn't have to make that stuff up in his blog. That dude gets points, gets points in the clutch, gets points when you need to win games.

Kunitz Crosby is proven chemistry , St. Louis and stamkos sounds great , how will they play together , can u prove they will have good chemistry??? On what basis ? Edm should have a better record then 2 Nd worst in the league dude , sorry but chemistry or lack of it is part of the problem, not nec the biggest but part of it
- Brianandr1

Can you prove they wouldn't? Stamkos and Crosby are 2 of the best players in the world, I am sure they would figure it out...

So judging by you saying chemistry has soooo much to do with success, are you saying that Kessel will struggle playing for team USA because he doesn't have Bozak and the chemistry they have?

I'd take Taylor Hall in a second, and wouldn't lose a minute of sleep in doing so.

That kid is a great player and he is absolutely being penalized for playing on a team that has, to be kind, seen better days.

I won't rip Chris Kunitz; he's a good player and does good things for the Pens.

But come on, people. If you watch Taylor Hall play 10 games, you know why he was a No. 1 overall pick and that, quite frankly, he's one of the 14 best forwards in Canada.

And I'm not even a fan of the Oilers.

one mistake can cost you a medal. hall comes from chaos and no system. that's my concern. as a franchise player, no question he's fantastic. in a short tourny, not my pick due to issues outside of his control. he'd be a 60 goal scorer if he played in pittsburgh.

Not saying he wont, i d love to see Kuntiz crosby stamkos... but 1) its not absolute that Stamkos is healthy and 2) Stamkos is a center potentially playing wing ... how do you know that works better then taveres, giroux or even neal (only if stamkos cant play!) on the right side
- Brianandr1

Now Neal too? You know what, why don't you take every Penguin from Canada and round out the team. You're a joke.

Honestly...
Kunitz is good, but he is not in the top15 among Canadian forwards. Period.

No im saying its a two week tournament... if you have pairs with proven chemistry you take advantage of it... kunitz/crosby, getzlaf/perry, sharp/toews and you fill in from there ... if kunitz Crosby Stamkos( if healthy, and i dont know why everyone assumes he will be) does not mesh you mix and match from there... Its 14 day, if it were an 82 game season plus plays sure St Loius Crosby Stamkos ... where do i sign up? but what if it takes a few games to gell???? You build around the Center and the best player on the team

I disagree, but I don't have the rosters/research to back up what I'm about to say: I can't believe that every single player who has appeared on successful Olympic teams have come from successful NHL teams at the same time.

Again, I don't have the rosters/research, so I could be wrong. But that doesn't sound right -- would a guy like Ilya Kovalchuk not score for Russia when he was playing for the Thrashers? Is Ryan Miller not gonna stop the puck because he's playing for Buffalo?

I just don't think that excluding Taylor Hall because of who he plays for makes any real sense.

YES!!! Neal the 40 goal scorer whos currently leading the league in points per game and lighting it up every night on a line with Kunitz and Crosby that happens to have the best record in the conference despite 10 or 11 regulars out of the line up! and if you read carefully i said considered IF STAMKOS IS HURT

St. Louis and Stamkos have amazing chemistry together. If Stamkos isn't available to play, St. Louis doesn't make the team. I'd like to think that management feels that potential line combo could have great chemistry together. Although I think Kunitz is underrated, there is simply too much scoring depth on this team for him to make it. I'd take Benn and Hall over Kunitz. I do agree with you on the merits of keeping current pairs together though.

look at his numbers without the kid for the past four seasons... its speaks for itself
- Brianandr1

Man you made me actually do research and it strengthened my argument. I am not saying Kunitz is a bad player at all in fact would love him on my Oil. But if we are talking about team Canada so it's a no for me as there are too many better options than him. Chemistry is the only reason he is chosen and in my opinion it's kinda ridiculous.

Better get mentally tough guy's, The U.S team has no fear of the Canadians like maybe others. Sweden is the team to beat, never enough respect given to them

Only reason Kunitz is being mentioned is because of Sid ...Kunitz is a mediocre hockey player that might make the team only to keep Sid firing on all cylinders with a familiar line mate. If it wasn't for that he probably wouldn't even make Team Iran.
