With all the coin spent by Minnie ....how do they continue without a coaching change or blockbuster trade...same for Nashville
Both teams look like misses for the playoffs - PEIHawkFan
I would be surprised if Minnie misses the play offs.....Trotz stays in Nashville. |

He won the Cup. I define it that way. He won more games than anyone else. Oh ans sure as hell outplayed Quick. - Elbows15
Scottak makes a very good point. Would Raanta have the same record playing for the Sabres, highly unlikely. Not that long ago many on here wanted Crawford sent packing. He has improved his game a lot over the years but he is not an elite goalie in my opinion. Good enough to win cups in Chicago, yes. The Hawks are a great hockey team with exceptional talent at forward and defence. |

Minnie has to beat out Dallas, Van and Phoenix - as of today, they're not in.

Minny will not make the playoffs the way they are playing now. For some reason they can not put the biscuit in the basket. |

Well I suppose if the Hawks were in the game it would be ok but the Flyers are in the 2015 Winter Classic so won't that be the third time for them. - jhawk159
Hawks/Bruins it is
Did not know about the 2015 flyers game |

Flyers dude
I will respect your knowledge about the Flyers. There are a couple Flyers fans/hockeybuzz writers. Nonetheless, how far do you see the flyers going in the post season. Their defense corps isn't the best, although I do not think the goaltending is too bad. The Flyers under Berube as first year coach could make the playoffs, possibly upset someone in first round? A shame that Schenn brothers both did not play longer and prep in the AHL. Had to hurt seeing Richards and Carter, same draft #1's, leave. Richards seems to be not a cause for concern for Sutter. |

It would be a nice honor for him, but there is no way any one other Sid is going to be captain. - Elbows15
I agree with this. I have to admit there was a time in Crosby's early career that I did not like the kid but he has really grown up and he is arguably the best player in the world. I am not a Pens fan at all but hats off to Crosby |

Time to get some other teams in it. Should make it a double header. Original 6 match ups and then spread it around. |

Thank you. The Flyers are playing great hockey right now and Berube is really making a difference, penalties are down and players are more accountable. The D is really very average and is the team's biggest weakness. They have no stars on D. Mason is playing great but still has to work on rebound control but he has provided solid goaltending. The forward group is as good as any, Schenn is looking better every game (3 pts last nite) If they had a defence that could transition like the Keith and the Hawks the forwards would be extra dangerous. When Richards and Carter were dealt they were more detrimental and a change of scenery was needed. B. Schenn and Couturier will be just reaching their prime when Carter and Richards will be fizzling out. |

For me - the Winter Classic = the Thrill is Gone. Especially after watching most of this year's game. Terrible weather conditions making the play on the ice a joke. Think about it, alot of people complain about the ice conditions during the 5 minute OT period. Why play an entire game with worse ice conditions?
I will say this again: Bettman, sell the game, not the gimmick(s). |

Even though It changes weekly, my thinking now is St. Louis gets #1 seed and we play Col at 2 + 3 seeds. In other division anaheim gets #1 and LA faces San Jose at 2 + 3 (what a great 1st round matchup). Vancouver will face either Ana or Blues. Leaving last spot between Phoenix, Dallas, or Minny. Will be a great battle to the end. Maybe phoenix |

Yeah for me, too. The games themselves aren't exciting. The best thing is the buildup with that hbo show and that isn't that great. How many outdoor games this year? 4 or 5? |

I still back both of those trades, especially getting schenn and simmonds for Richards. I agree with everything you said. You have a great group of forwards. You do really need a better D that can transition quicker and get the puck up to the forwards. |

Disagree. I think it's great to see the players deal with natural conditions in a pre-high tech, climate controlled environment. I'll never get tired of it. Yes, the game is different, but that doesn't make it worse.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this one. |

Schenn is goint to be a star, he is still in diapers. Simmonds for Richards straight up is even for me. Schenn makes this trade a heist. That being said Kings got a cup and that is the ultimate goal. It was a total team effort and Quick was spectacular.
Couter is only 21 and is a super talent that has a great future. |

Shoud be good weather at least at Chavez Ravine.
Ice may be liquid water, but no snow or cold. |
