Im actually going out to a local establishment for the game. Though I am a bit nervous about it. I called yesterday to see if they would be open today for game time. They said they open at one. Kind of close for comfort, I hope they arent late! I know if they get there to open at 12/1230 theyll let me in and serve, so I hope they're on time.

I wonder if everyone is as pumped about this game as I am. Biggest and best outdoor game in our leagues history. Should be a doozy, if the Leafs win. If they lose, everything is ruined.

I'm pretty pumped about it too... I'm gonna be double-screening with my laptop so that I'll be able to watch the Manchester United game as well, so it's gonna be a full-on sports fest in here today. Lucky for me, Mrs Lums is a big fan of soccer and a bigger fan of hockey, so I'll have her, rather than dirty looks, for company during the game

I honestly don't even go to the events anymore because of the outragous prices these days. Wife and figure we just double the cost of an event and go to Cuba instead. We know that we could have 7 days of awesome as opposed to a good 3-4 hours IF our team wins.

I just want to know what the plan is if we saved the money and let Dion walk...Were we going to sign Chara with it? Weber? Suter?

What could we have done with the money to improve the team? Sign Girardi? I don't see how replacing Girardi with Phaneuf gets us ahead, plus its all assumption he has any interest in signing here...Who is out there to spend this money on?

Exactly. You have to sign the players that want to be in TO. It's true that Dion is not worth more than $5.5-6M but you had to get it done. Weber, Suter and Girardi wouldn't sign with you anyway. Damn, the Penguins signed Letang for $7.25M bases on potential even though he was worth $6.25-6.75M tops.

While Cuba is the basic and bare minimum of vacations, it's dirt cheap. Well, cheaper than the alternatives anyways. You really should take the Mrs soon, great way to recharge the physical and mental batteries.
