For the first 4 years it's not bad. The Leafs had to keep him,
because there aren't any better options in free agency.

ouch. should have traded him. his cotract is steep but wont be in a couple of years.
its the "c" for the next seven years thats going to be a problem. he is not a leader, lazy, dumb as poop....terrible example for the younger players and there is no taking it away from him.

Gleason is injury prone - dump Liles for picks and/or retain some of his salary if need be - is a #3 or 4 dman on a team - you end up bumping down other dmen on your depth chart - take some of the Liles savings and give it to Franson

He played every single game in 2010-11 and 2011-12, then he missed only 6 games last year. This year he has missed 22 games with a concussion, but he has been back the last 3 weeks. The concussion is a cause for concern, but I wouldn't say he's injury prone any more than we could say Liles is.
