I could see that too, but I am not sure I would trade Kadri for Schenn 1 for 1....
- SgtSerge

Could have included Reimer - but with mason having a good year - probably cooled things off for the flyers in acquiring a goalie

I sure am. TSN has gotten stale over the years.

Some of the personalities at Sportsnet suck, but that'll change hopefully....

Never said cocky is a reason to trade him.

I've said he is talented in previous posts, and is cocky as all (frank). That he lacks the heart to take the next step. Like I said, I know him from JR days, and it was his knock then. I know attitudes can change, but his wont. Not the first ex knight to be like that.

See: Schremp, Rob.

I just don't see this whole cocky thing being a huge issue. You want a player to be confident. He plays with a lot of heart and seems to really want to be an NHL star so I find your views hard to believe. He already looks like he has taken major steps since he was a rookie. Trust me, I have heard of his ways in JR. I dont think he is going to be a 80-90 point guy like people were suggesting last year but hopefully a 55-65 point guy. I dont want to trade that away.

Same crap to me, really. I never watch sportscenter or whatever it is anyways. If there is a game on then Ill tune in, otherwise I never watch those channels. The only intermission I even care to watch are the CBC intermissions. The change wont make a lick of a difference to me, fortunately.

In fact, it works out because now I can cancel TSN and save some money on my cable bill.

Does not bother me, if TSN were not such dinks and shared the media rights to NHL clips with Sportsnet, this would not have happened. TSN (Bell) tried to kill Sportsnet (Rogers) by only letting the shows have talking points no real interviews..... So they could only bring people in to talk on the show not use sound bites from interviews.....

So to me, looks good on them, and I will get to see more hockey so Win/Win.

Now CableTV prices on the other hand.....

sorry buddy, your opinion doesnt trump anyone elses.

kadri aint going anywhere, hes home grown, leaf drafted and our highest skilled center at 23 years of age.

only way hes seen the door is if there is a serious, and i mean serious problem with him in the dressing room / coaches...

- big_dion

Fully agree with you but unfortunately I believe the report that he is being shopped around a bit. I dont want to believe it (just like I didnt want to believe the Leafs were going after Kippur last year) but for some reason I can just see Nonis wanting to move Kadri.

cocky is a bad thing when it gets in the way of development. Kadri is the type of guy who things he IS elite, and that his game is perfect. So it stops him from doing all the little things that will make him a star in this league. That is all I am saying.

I never said he lacked talent, or he needed to be traded. I like Kadri on this team, he will become a solid player, but he will never be a Gilmour because he is far too cocky.

Saw that too.

Aside from Bobby M, the rest are a snore. I mean I hope Sportsnet hires some new up and coming people. Tired of maclean and kipper being the IT thing on sportsnet.

(frank)ing Kadri rumours has our fans turning on each other. Not even the promise of the Winter Classic outdoor game tomorrow can get you guys to focus on the games and to have a positive attitude for once...

Fair enough. Hopefully he can get back to doing whatever the hell he was doing last year. Looked liked a much better player last season.

This is from September

"Bob McKenzie reports that Nazem Kadri might be looking at 6 years and $5.5 million per year.

That is a contract similar to John Tavares.

Is Nazem Kadri worth the same as John Tavares? How would you compare the two players?
"

That is a big issue, and personally it should be someone else's issue, talent or not.
Wants something when he has not even grown in to a player close to what he thinks he is.

Kadri is a cocky punk. And will never work as hard as Doug, while lacking all Dougs heart.

I want Kadri on this team, but keep your stats Colin, there is no comparison between either player.

- IRON.MAIDEN

Kadri is cocky, Dougie was run out of Stl because of a baby sitter

no comparison

Dear lord. The salary cap will dictate how much these guys can demand and expect to get paid. You really think Tavares with next seasons expected cap, or the season after for this matter, wouldn't allow him to demand and get much more? Didn't Tavares sign when there was the lockout and the cap was expected to or had gone wayyy down? FFS you should know better McKenzie.

No comparison between the 2. And there never was.

Kadri wanted to be paid, cant fault a man for getting as much as he can.

I really think if Nonis is going to make any trades, he should wait until closer to the trade deadline and move players individually to get a bigger return. I'd like to keep Reims as I think the two goalies pushing each other is working. Hopefully, one of them can take charge in the playoffs, like Halak did that one season sharing duties with Price in Montreal. Gards and Kadri can go though.

I dont even know what to expect to be honest. I should probably check the outcomes of previous games. I expect a high scoring game for some reason, has that been the case in the past?

Exactly. Perfect time for Kadri to be up for a contract. For Tavares, it was a horrible time and he got screwed by the timing of how everything went down.

Look at what so many guys around Kadris age are making. Is Skinner a Tavares? Is Eberle a Tavares? Is E.Kane? Is Zajac?
