Muskoka group 2.0
Kessel
Dion
Clarkson
Bozak
Gunnarson
And now randy - MTL1
add JVR Bernier Lupul and Kadri to that list. They want to get involved in this real estate too. |

That little swede the leafs have can certainly put the puck in the net...Just scored his 3rd of WJC - Fruitcakenipple

Gunnarsson? No. Bozak looks like he'll live up to 4 mil a year if he can stay healthy, for some weird reason Kessel/JVR thrive with him. Kessel is smooth sailing. Dion is unknown at this point, will probably fall off for the last couple years of his deal. Clarkson is an issue if he doesnt figure it out.
Not close to a muskoka 5. I only worry about Clarkson. - dionschenn
Im worried about Clarkson and Phaneuf for the final years, but both are playing solid hockey right now even if the scoresheet doesn't always reflect it. This is nothing even close to the muskoka 5. I dont think the injuries have kept them from being world beaters, but it has cost them at least a couple of wins IMO. |

If anyone says yes, then you'll post how Crosby Neal and Malkin make 21 right?
Lets talk in 3 years once every team locks up 3 higher profile players. Because I bet there will be many teams paying over 20 mil for mediocrity. This is the 1st year of a new cap, and the leafs are doing fine. - IRON.MAIDEN
Those 3 are closer to $23+ after malkins deal kicks in
But will provide guaranteed results
Do you think all 3 fulfill their contracts in Toronto
I think kessel has the best chance |

Just saying....not sure why people are being so hard on Kadri who just turned 23... - Colin Dambrauskas
Kadri is a cocky punk. And will never work as hard as Doug, while lacking all Dougs heart.
I want Kadri on this team, but keep your stats Colin, there is no comparison between either player. |

I don't know why people are freaking out..... some sound like
Anyways, here we go,
1) Leafs are not doing great but they are letting the season come to them, it is a long season and the key, as everyone know is being in "it" come march. I expect by then 4-5 teams will still be within 5 points of each other and there will be battles. That is when I plan on judging what we have. (Unless the leafs fall out of contention before March, then we know what we have.
2) There will be no major coaching or personnel changes unless there is a problem behind the scenes or if a great deal comes up. The big boss Lew what's a cup and soon, if Nonis makes a move and the leafs tank he is gone, so he will play it safe this year.
3) (This is an opinion) Big Boss Lew and the Leafs will not want to upset Bern, so Riem will be shown the door at some point, he is a RFA this year so hold some amazing value. When Bolland gets back (or is imminent) the package and Riem and Kadri would fetch something quality, the only issue I see, will Bolland be back with enough time to evaluate his health/game quality before you pull the trigger?
IMO Nonis will not do anything and trade Riem after the season.

I agree that Kadri will never be Doug but I think you're a little harsh. It's not fair to assume that Kadri does not work hard, and he actually does play with some heart(throws big time hits for a small guy and actually looks happy during goals). I don't understand why people point to him being "cocky" as a reason to trade him. |

Kadri is a cocky punk...sure...but again, hes still young, has a TON of raw talent, has that feisty edge to his game, and still has some development to go. He will be a solid player in a few years and if not for the Leafs, you'll be kicking yourself for giving up on him. |

Never said cocky is a reason to trade him.
I've said he is talented in previous posts, and is cocky as all (frank). That he lacks the heart to take the next step. Like I said, I know him from JR days, and it was his knock then. I know attitudes can change, but his wont. Not the first ex knight to be like that.

Never wanted to give up on him.
And Kadri will fizzle more and more with every hiccup. This isn't the type of guy who looks at a problem as a challenge. He looks at a challenge as a problem. |
