If the leafs trade the next dougy gilmour "kadri" i give up on this team legit, there is no NEED to trade KADRI unless the player is immensely better than him, and Skinner is NOT THE ANSWER.

I dont see how our offense is troubled. Kadri is a main piece of this hockey club, the only thing Nonis should be working on is our GODAMN defense squad. Gleason for Liles is a short term fix, while Girardi would be a nice acquisition. I dont think offense is really the struggle with bozak back and bolland coming back soon.

Geesus i hate hearing this crap pisses me off, if Nonis (frank)s up who is ready to burn down the ACC?

- Mapleleafs_91

I agree that Skinner is not an upgrade to Kadri.

But Kadri is no Gilmour. Kadri isn't good enough to wipe Gilmours ass. To even compare the 2 is laughable. I know Kadri from all the way back in JR here in London. I've had a chance to hang out with him on a few occasions. He is talented, and has the desire to win, but lacks 2 of Gilmours biggest traits.

Heart and determination.

Could have sworn you said to trade all 3, then questioned Nonis, then went on to question Carlyle.

Trust me, "Leafs suck" will save you a lot of time.

You are correct - but the question is - what route is the safest for the leafs

Do you trade 3 good young players and expect to get what back in return?
And do you trust nonis to bring in the correct assets?

It is much safer to show randy the door

He was the impetus of gardiner being moved from Anaheim to Toronto
Kadri has never really been handled properly by the leafs - some of it is due to his own behaviour but poor coaching being a big factor as well

Could not agree more..... Kadri = Doug G. means meds are being missed.....

I just think that Kadri wanted 5-6 mill and we have to do this again in 1.5 years..... that fact alone makes me want to get rid of him when the time is right, he compared himself to John Tav for frank sakes.....

But only get rid of him once it makes sense for the team, he should fetch something nice if packaged right.

- SgtSerge

Holland has been playing great lately. If Bolland comes back earlier than expected and Kadri's play is still off...then bench for a game or two.

All I keep hearing is how great Mtl has been and how bad the Leafs have been but Montreal is only 4 points ahead in the standings.... can't wait for the Leafs to play even average and pass them...

Yup nonis is definitely not going anywhere
He is softer than Burke - perfect match for leiwieke (sp)

Haven't seen too many comments or thoughts (perhaps I missed them) on kessel dion and clarkson accounting for $20+M on the cap

Good moves?

I don't know what TV channel you're watching, or what threads you're reading, but the habs have been anything but great.

I think we can say with certainty that Kessel is.

Clarkson probably not. I like the player, but not the salary.

Phaneuf, well... I don't like that.

Why wouldn't I trust Nonis? Why trade all 3? Why fire Randy?

Did you guys trade Subban or fire Therien when they had issues?

How is Carlyle behind the Gardiner trade, when Gardiner never played for Carlyle? Please stop... Look, just say the Leafs suck and move on.

Classic. Kadri has a great year and he is "untouchable"/the future of the Leafs. He falls off a bit and now it's "WHEN IS HE BEING TRADED?!?!! HE NEEDS TO GO NOW!!!!!"......Patience. Please.

Trading someone when their value is low is definitely what you don't do as a GM.

Who says the Habs have been great?
Marred with injuries all year
Allowing minimal goals is key
They have given up 29 fewer goals than the leafs

If anyone says yes, then you'll post how Crosby Neal and Malkin make 21 right?

Lets talk in 3 years once every team locks up 3 higher profile players. Because I bet there will be many teams paying over 20 mil for mediocrity. This is the 1st year of a new cap, and the leafs are doing fine.

Gunnarsson? No. Bozak looks like he'll live up to 4 mil a year if he can stay healthy, for some weird reason Kessel/JVR thrive with him. Kessel is smooth sailing. Dion is unknown at this point, will probably fall off for the last couple years of his deal. Clarkson is an issue if he doesnt figure it out.

Not close to a muskoka 5. I only worry about Clarkson.

Given the options and where the team is/was, they were good moves that came with some pretty big over payments. It happens. Habs did it with Briere. Sometimes teams have holes they simply just can't ignore, especially when their teams are holding a playoff spot. Hardly to sell or ditch players. Often, filling these holes comes at high cost. If the Cap is expected to rise to the level being reported, they were good moves. Not great, but the team had(s) little alternative.

23 yrs old - 1985-86 St. Louis Blues NHL 74 25 28 53 (0.71ppg)

Kadri
22yrs - 2012-13 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL 48 18 26 44 (0.91ppg)
