The trade deadline is March 5, and with the Olympic break taking 2 weeks out of the season - the Leafs and all teams will have to start making decisions on their assets sooner rather than later - especially their UFAs or risky losing them for nothing
Bolland - Kulemin - McClement - Raymond

- MTL1

Teams in a playoff position lose guys for nothing all the time. Toronto will only trade players if they need to make cap or roster room. They wont trade a Raymond for a pick or prospect when they have the playoffs or a playoff race ahead of them.

What you do, is you resign Phanuef (which they just did) and then you go out looking for that #2 to play with him...

cept he was overpaid by about 2 million to begin with
- Dozzer

No point in arguing his cap hit. It's done. The question should be contemplated; what can the Leafs do to compliment his skill set. Bring in another defenseman who can play the right side.

Your own team? Maybe?

I mean, just own up to trolling. I was in the Sens thread earlier, for the purpose of trolling. I wont deny it. Just own up. It's not a big deal.

I guess I see it differently.

To me trolling is someone who points out negatives and only that. They show up after a loss, during controversial in house debates etc.

I do it all the time. I can't deny it. I take great pleasure in trolling and its the most effective when done oh so subdtly. I usually spot a troll a mile away, I know all the signs to look for. It's like making a deal with a con artist, who knows all the signs and secrets of the trade.

We still need a true #1, let's find that one first so we can have a half decent defence that might give us a chance to squeak into the playoffs.

man Leafs fans and media are pathetic. Lets take a guy that has played 48 total games, and produced for maybe 15 of those games, and say he is a better solution than the guy that was 2nd in team scoring last season. you think we are maybe jumping the gun just a little? There is no way, Holland has proven anything to take his spot.

As for a trade, give the guy the remainder of his contract and if things don't return to last years levels, look to package him in a move. Sick of the leafs moving their high draft picks too soon, and letting other teams dump their mediocre garbage on them.

I agree that Kadri needs to step things up a little and start using his wingers more. He needs to be the play maker, who pots the occasional goal. This is where he will excel, right now he's trying to be the guy who carries the puck, and the guy who gets the shot/scoring chance on net. If he starts dishing the puck more than shooting, he will be much better off.

- vermie22

It was taking him a while to gel with Kessel and JVR and also, they might not just work well together. I agree with the rest of your post. Reading these opinions makes me really question some people.

You mean as opposed to last years playoff spot and the one we hold right now? Guess we signed that #1 guy today, if thats the criteria.
