2 to 3 then the buyout.
- LeafMan

sigh... wishful thinking

he's here for 7.. likely resign at a lesser value for two or three years to finish up his career too.

Basically it's a win-win situation. No matter what happens this thread will be equally as entertaining to read.

sophomore year.. 23 years old.. still on pace for 50P

(frank) sakes.. any other second year centre in any other market would be worshipped for that production.. but not in toronto.. here he's trade bait.

- Dozzer

It's all about expectations.

If people expect Kadri to become a dominant first line center, they'll be mad about him for his entire career.

If you stop believing that and see him for what he is, a good, young centerman who looks like a promising #2 center, you start liking him.

If Montreal doesn't get Subban signed and he goes to RFA, there are a lot of clubs I could see throwing offer sheets at him.

Philly isn't shy about offer sheets, and they only have BSchenn and Timonen as key free agents and look to have about 16+ million to spend is the cap goes to 71.

St. Louis is way below the cap, adding Subban has to make them one of the cup faves.

I don't think the draft pick conpensation would necessarily deter some teams.

Awful contract. Stop being such a liker.
- LeafMan

who replaces Dion? Let's hear it. I guess +13 on a minus team, Near the top of the league in mins played, hits, 1st line PP and 1st unit PK plus avgs about 40 pts a year while shutting down the other teams top players isn't good enough.

I'm on the pro-Dion side, but I absolutely hate him on the 1st PP unit. I'd take either Gardiner or Rielly instead. Just a personal preference

So when I like Subban contract does that make it a bad contract?

It's not as bad as you seem to make it out to be.

listen..not getting into this

average 2 way d-men (top pairing) who only produce between 30 and 40 points are not 7 million dollar guys.

dion is being sold to us as a number one..he's a number two.

i dont like DP..but he's a leaf for 7 years confirmed.. so i will cheer.. the logo means more to me than my dislike of the player.

Kadri has never shown any inclination to start playing in that vein, ever, and I've been watching him since Junior.
- gravyface

While I agree that there no sense in comparing someone like Kadri to someone like Gilmour, saying he will never amount to anything worth discussing is just as ridiculous imo. Im sure there were pundits saying similar things about Gilmour when he was 23...yeesh.

i don't disagree, and have said this a few times. it would take some minutes off of him. Point is he can play it and play it well.

And you're using this to counter his point about Phaneuf because...........?
- Scabeh

Because the straight facts are that he is doing a heck of a job defensively. A plus 13 even though he leads the league in quality of competition. Trolls will never admit it but Dion has been great in his own end this year, his game just keep maturing.

Already went through with my suggestions countless times, I no longer give a poop about this team, they will forever stay in mediocrity.
