No problem.. just bugging you.

As for KO... I do think he should be on the team, but obviously he didn't stand out enough.

He is kind of streaky... he needs to give his best effort every night.

But the real question is where is Bobby Ryan???

Agree with you on Ryan...regarding Okposo, he isn't a known quantity right now...

Correct!!!! just because he is having a good 1st half doesn't merit what he has done in his career....

Well, good second-half, playoffs and first half this season. It would have been cool to see KO make it, and I do think a case could be made fairly easily that he's earned it (dramatic turnaround from the beginning of last season to the end of that season, and he's shown this year that it wasn't a fluke). But I can see why folks would leave him off.

What I don't get though...some of the people that made it. They talk about wanting heart and guts and take Blake Wheeler?

Leaving Ryan off is crazy, and yeah, I've heard all the stuff about filling roles and building a team rather than a cast of all stars. It's still crazy. You bring your big guns to a cannon fight.

Also, you have a player like Callahan who's been hurt this season and hasn't been at his absolute best when he's been in there, and he makes it based on his strengths at the last Olympics, which absolutely makes sense...go with what you know. But they leave Erik Johnson off, who was a rock for them in Vancouver and is playing well this season. Why no leeway for him? I think he earned it with his showing last time, and while he's had some ups and downs since, he's playing at a high level this season.

Here's how they selected the team...it's a long article...

http://espn.go.com/nhl/st...-sochi-olympics-was-named

Ryan and Okposo should have made it...

They basically picked the team months ago. What a joke that was. It's going to backfire. They don't have the strongest team possible

Goaltending to me is bad after miller. Howard isn't great and Quick has been hurt and average the last two years. Ben Bishop is playing great. Why is he not there?

I was thinking the same thing. Crosby-Towes-Stamkos-Getzlaf

I know Stamkos is hurt, but he's doing all he can to return by the Olympics.

I agree about some players being selected who didn't deserve it, and others who do and gotten snubbed......

If JT doesn't make team Canada these boards will go nuts. Especially if Nash makes it over him.

From The Hockey News:

A THIRD CAPITAL ASKS TO BE TRADED

CSN Washington’s Chuck Gormley reported agent Patrik Stefan, who represents Capitals backup Michal Neuvirth, believes it’s time for his client to move on. Neuvirth’s seen action in only seven games this season and wants a chance to play. “I ask Washington that if he can’t play there then give him a chance somewhere else,” Stefan said.

Neuvirth was sidelined by a leg injury in late-November, forcing the Capitals to call up Philipp Grubauer. Neuvirth has been healthy since mid-December, but unable to get back into action because of Grubauer’s strong play.

Capitals GM George McPhee could find it difficult to move Neuvirth, though. The trade market is reportedly stagnant and the 25-year-old has another season (at a cap hit of $2.5 million) remaining on his contract.

Neuvirth is the third Capitals player to request a trade this season joining winger Martin Erat and defenseman Dmitry Orlov. Erat’s been waiting more than a month to be moved. Orlov, on the other hand, may be reconsidering after a steady increase in playing time throughout December.

Same Patrik Stefan that was drafted first overall in 99 by the Thrashers and was pretty much a bust??

You can't really say that because canada doesn't have a lot of great natural wingers while they have 12 natural centers that could probably make the team. Nash will make that team because he is one of canadas best wingers, not because they think he's a better player than jt. They're not going to ice a team with 4 centers playing out of position.

Why? Going for Center to wing is relatively easy unless you have the brains of Dustin Brown

If this is true then Canada has a weak group of wingers.

Not necessarily. It depends on the player and brad richards for example said he felt really uncomfortable on the wing when he got moved there for a few games. Not sure as gm of a national team I'd risk playing a bunch of players out of position against the other best players in the world in the biggest tournament.
