Giroux is not as much of a lock as those other three guys.

Toews is the best Candian 2-way center, Stamkos is the best Canadian goal scorer, and Crosby is the world's best player.

You can easily come up with a set of forwards that doesn't have Giroux on it.

So if your building your team would you leave Giroux off for Richards or D.Brown, knowing its on international ice?

I remember that Shawn Antoski once beat Keith Acton in a skating race... and that was just about the only thing that Antoski did well as a player. He was an average enforcer and had no puck skills or hockey sense.

i think a centers ability to play wing without much dropoff will be a big determining factor in who gets to go. can guys like giroux or tavares make the shift? if so, you find room for them.

It's been that way for a while. They don't want to give one team a specific advantage going into the playoffs. It also has to do with the saturday games. A team that plays on Monday shouldn't have to play a Saturday game. It allows the league to structure the playoff games exactly how they'd like without worrying about giving certain teams a disadvantage.
