Would you trade Couturier and Morin for Kadri and Gardiner? |

It really is. I wasn't sure that Mason was the answer, but wow has he been good. He's giving up more goals than before, but is keeping us in all the games and doing quite well of late in shoot outs.. I am glad to hear other flyers fans see it the same way. - Hextall271
Mason has no defense. Cant fault the guy. Look what happens when Emery is between the pipes, that guy lost 1 game with Chicago last season. A defense can hide your flaws. truly. |

Problem: consistency
This team is comprised heavily of grindy type of players, which by nature can be pretty streaky. Moving Hartnell for a shoot first type of player with some finess would help this team with consistency in scoring. - 2Real
Goal scoring doesn't look like a problem to me. |

I think Flyers fans deserve it....... I cant tell you how many times the Flyers have been beaten in big games, championship games, any games when we were clearly the superior team..... BUT the other team had that GOALIE, and with that our hopes were lost. I know Mason isnt a Brodeur or Hasek but its as clear as day that kid has talent and great positioning, a universe seperates him and Bryzgalov and that guy got a 51 Million dollar contract. - GOA88
I wonder what kind of deal Mason is going to get. I really hope Homer is smart and offers a bridge deal, 3-4 years at a moderate cap hit, but that will still allow Mason to Cash in big time after that time.
And more often then not the Flyers were also getting beat by the Charpentier's and Raycrofts of the league as much as the Broduers and Haseks. |

No doubt, if he's healthy, he'll get more than 4th line minutes in Sochi. - johndewar
I doubt its as a center though. I think Giroux moves to wing. |

Why does Toronto want to move Kadri so much? Attitude? Defensive game? |

I think that's exactly where he'll be slotted. Fine by me, I just want to see him get the experience. |

I think its attitude. Watching the 24/7 even Coach said he thinks he's a number 1 center right now, and he eventaully wants him to play as a #2.
To me it looks like they are not sure he can fulfill his full potential, but at the same time, he thinks he is better then he is. Plus he has discipline problems. However, it is someone I would take a chance on. Could you imagine a line of Schenn-Kadri-Simmonds? |

No way Couturier gets traded, he has shown flashes of pure dominance at age 20. |

Last night was a true indication of this, one solid defenseman would do wonders, like Clement said, you usually get one attempt to clear it out of the zone, & if you don't, they hem you in for 45 seconds of solid pressure, one solid D man added to the mix would really alleviate some pressure on Mason. |

We have a good group..... we are just missing that true #1 defender. Pronger did wonders, but unfortunately Pronger is a once in a lifetime defender. Nobody even close to his status even when Prongs was like 37-38 years old. I would love to have Suter or Weber or Pietrangelo. |

same here, but, just one solid guy for starters would help tremendously, & we wouldn't have to unload 1/2 the team to do it. There's no way in Hell we would or could acquire a number 1 guy, it would cost way too much & what team has an extra one for sale?
I would rather look at someone a few years established, then a Gardiner, he would cost a lot, & is still on the learning curve, we don't need that.
It was very obvious in a game like last night, & the same script for most of our wins, Mason has to stop 40 shots for us to be in it, just a solid guy to play in the mix of Kimmo, Coburn, & Grossman, (the others are what they are). |

I'm not so sure Dion Phaneuf would have been a good fit here but it sucks to know that he is no longer on the market and no longer an option for the Philadelphia Flyers. Leafs fans hate him. |

I dont really think Phaneuf is anything too special. He has his weaknesses. Probably over paid if you ask me. 2nd tier defenseman in my mind. |

He's probably still better than the Flyers' top 6 defenders. |

I assume you think he is a shutdown defender? Im sure most of the Leaf nation would disagree with you. He can hit like a tank, he has a cannon shot and he is an above average defender. |

if Streit is worth $5 million on the UFA open market, what's Dion worth?
$6 mill? No
in bold, yeah, & he plays a boatload of solid minutes, he would have been & is worth it, & if he was over hyped, the GM & coach would have not agreed on resigning him.
