Yep. Was expecting more this year, frankly. - johndewar
I was expecting him to be similar to last year, but take a step forward defensively. I think Berube feels a bit for the tough guys and is reluctant to take him out of the lineup or take away minutes. Rinaldo was given the opportunity to kill penalties, but Raffl thoroughly outplayed him in that department. His value is decreasing every game. |

Was Couts on the ice for any of the Sedin line goals?
The times I saw him out there he was doing a pretty good job against that line. They seemed at their best when the Canucks got the matchup they wanted. - shekkie
I think they were out for 1 goal against. Read and Couts finished the game even. I think it's amazing that they both finished even considering how much damage the Sedins were doing last night. |

Just like the Russian Olympic team... TONS of talent. Zero idea how to play a team game. |

I would too. Mez was responsible for 2 goals against last night. - PhillySportsGuy
Not to mention Coburn feeding passes in the slot to the other team two games in a row |

Great win last night. I only stayed up to watch the end of the 3rd. Flyers beat a very solid team which had been super hot. Showed a lot of resiliency coming back as well.
I expect Razor to start tonight. Close out 2013 in style boys... |

Giroux is not as much of a lock as those other three guys.
Toews is the best Candian 2-way center, Stamkos is the best Canadian goal scorer, and Crosby is the world's best player.
You can easily come up with a set of forwards that doesn't have Giroux on it. - Feanor
Really??? Because Giroux is 2nd in the league in points over the last 3 seasons. Only Malkin has more. I'd say he is a complete lock. |

They looked terrible last night. Probably one of the luckiest games I have seen in a long long time.

I only saw the first two periods and then highlights of 3rd and ot. Mase played well, and it I was very pleased to see the resiliency to come back after the late goal. |

Well it sure feels awesome to finally have a goaltender that can win you games, Thats what the Rangers and Devils have been doing all these years. Im so happy to finally have a stud goalie. |

You know I like Rinaldo. Guy is dedicated and sacrifices his body for the team. But his hits havent been there this year as much as in the past. His improved discipline has gone away, and he really doesnt drop the gloves much anymore. I wouldnt mind scratching him here and there for Velveta. Or better yet, how about we bring up Holmstrom and make the 4th line a shutdown line.....

My favorite was John Buccigross putting G on a 4th line for the Canadian Olympic team.
I'm no fan of NHL'ers in the Olympics and I secretly hope that Giroux gets left off the team, but I also realize that that won't happen and I also realize he'll be more than a 4th liner on that team. |

I forgot what it was like, as a Flyers fan, to go into a game thinking the goalie had a chance to steal 2 points. |

I was half asleep during the first period last night and fell asleep during the second period. I woke up and watched the 3rd period and IMO it was exciting. Big saves from Mason, and they went punch for punch offensively. I think that is a great sign that this team is turning around offensively. THe Jake, Roo, Raffl line is still looking great, and Vinny and Schenn looked good last night.
And it was also great to beat a Tort team. Another good sign. |

With injuries and the way he has played of late, Giroux will be on the team. He'll also do well on the larger ice surface. |

The third period had much more open hockey, but like the shot margin and time of possession suggest, Vancouver really put it to us. They hit the post a few times, and were ABSOLUTELY robbed by Mason a handful of times.
The Flyers seemed to get things really going after the 3rd goal for the Nucks. Fortunately they were able to get a W while only really playing solid hockey for about 12 minutes. |

I think Flyers fans deserve it....... I cant tell you how many times the Flyers have been beaten in big games, championship games, any games when we were clearly the superior team..... BUT the other team had that GOALIE, and with that our hopes were lost. I know Mason isnt a Brodeur or Hasek but its as clear as day that kid has talent and great positioning, a universe seperates him and Bryzgalov and that guy got a 51 Million dollar contract. |

It really is. I wasn't sure that Mason was the answer, but wow has he been good. He's giving up more goals than before, but is keeping us in all the games and doing quite well of late in shoot outs.. I am glad to hear other flyers fans see it the same way. |

No doubt, if he's healthy, he'll get more than 4th line minutes in Sochi.

Enough of your love in with Hartnell, at least look at it objectively and realize his time has passed here. He is no longer an effective top 6 player. I was at the game in Edmonton and watched him specifically. He was on his can more than he was up. Giroux has picked up his game effectively without Hartnell and will now probably make the Olympic Team. That is what leaders do push through it. - Daceroni
Oh wow, you went to one game this season? Good for you! I've gone to three, so this means what? Scott Hartnell is a player who's game is create space for all the other players snd he does thst. In fsct he does it very well on the PP in the middle of the box. He only adds to our success. Hartnell has picked up his game and is producing with a four game point streak. |
