The D is really struggling tonight. Vancouver's speed is giving them fits. It's obvious in games like this Coburn tries to step up as our true defenseman with wheels and he just looks out of place trying to do it. As for Mezzy it's more sad then anything. He's a shell of the player he was. He's a step behind on everything and more often then not he looks like he's trying to figure out the position he was supposed to be seconds earlier, adding to his poor positioning. - Flyers1218
i particularly enjoyed mesz just falling down in front of the net for no reason and then doing nothing while the pass whizzed by him in front for the tip in goal. that was beautiful. |

Coburn is really battling the puck tonight. Mez battles the puck and his brain every night - PhillySportsGuy
Yup. It's hard to defend Coburn tonight, but he did save what was likely a sure goal on the 3rd PP for the Nucks. Mesz just can't find his mojo. |

That was a difficult dance move and I don't feel you're giving him enough credit for it. |

Hahaha, I feel for the guy though. However, I think it's worth giving Hal Gill another look. I get the feeling the Flyers may still trade a forward (Hartnell) to get a more mobile defenseman, because I do believe they want Downie on that third line. - Flyers1218
Hartnell isn't worth a top 6 defenseman. Any team willing to trade a top 6 dman will be a team in rebuild and will want a pick or prospect.
If they play Gill, they are a REALLY slow defense. By far, the slowest in the NHL |

On both Vancouver goals, Meszaros pretty much had no idea of where he should be positioned and whom he should be covering. |

if mesz can ever round back into form it will take time. i'd rather ride it out and hope to see his positives being put to good use by the flyers in the stretch/hopefully baby jesus in the playoffs...
if we're going on mistakes alone then coburn should pack his bags after these last two games. meh.
