We're running a tight vowl budget.
- BulliesPhan87

Better a tight vowl budget than a loose vowl movement, I suppose.

Obviously the team is playing generally well right now, but what's going on with Vinny and Brayden Schenn? Obviously don't want to shake-up chemistry or lines, but is Vinny just gonna ride it out on the wing for now?
- Flyers_V88

Yea, they are sticking to what is working. Simmonds is playing out of his mind right now, but he is very streaky. It wont be long before the 2nd line starts to falter a bit and Vinny is moved back up. Really though, the team is hot. Its hard to find a place for everyone right now. I would really like to see Downie, Couts and Read re-united...

Do things ever really change here?

Sure. There seems to be far less arguing lately.

Mason's play has dropped off just a tad. He's still playing well though.
I hope Berube plays Mason almost every game. I really have zero confidence in Emery. I feel like when he plays the Flyers have very little chance to win.

I really do feel like right now might be the best time to make a move for a D-Man. Right before the Olympic break. Before the deadline rockets up the price, and while Simmonds value is sky-high. We all know he is steaky. Might as well deal him while his streak is high. I so wonder what it would take to get Kane and Buff out of winnipeg. Simmonds, Schenn, Schenn, 1st, 2nd. I would seriously consider that.

I think Emery is just fine as a back-up goalie.

We need a very strong defensive performance. The Flyers may need to sacrifice some offense and keep that third man pretty high.

This is a very tough matchup for the Flyers. This is a lunchpail game and will test the character of this team.

Last time I checked, his save % was last in the NHL.

I think the Flyers should sign Khudobin as the backup next year assuming he returns full healthy from his ankle injury in October.

Even if Emery took a pay cut, then can get a better goalie than him for $1 million.

tempting, but Kane is a head case, rather just work on getting a good D man

For some reason, I feel the same. Emery doesn't look sharp in net and it always looks like he has no movement side-to-side. I wanna see Mason get the bulk of games.

I like this international rule.

Checking to the head is a 2 minuet penalty, with a 10 minute misconduct. NHL should look into that.

Edit: 1-0 svk. Wooo!

I dont trust the Refs to get the call right at full spead in the heat of the moment. There are a lot of shots that might look like head shots, that aren't. Maybe if you throw in a video replay or something to be sure, but I would sure hate lose Giroux for 10 minutes in an important game because the Ref thought a hit to the shoulder was a head hit.

Scott Laughton is having a really strong game. Best player along the boards for either team so far and had a good short handed chance.

Reminds me of a more tame version of Downie.
