No offense, but if you do road work, thank god. Those road construction crews hardly ever work and take forever to do anything.

Road construction takes awhile if you do it right. Up north its a different story because most of the work is resurfacing. They take a 90 day project and turn it into a 365 day project and use RFIs/Change Orders to rob tax payers blind, and the DOT is mostly complicit. Lots of mobbed up contractors/politicians.

Delaware isn't so bad, DelDOT was pretty good when I left in 2001. NJDOT and PENNDOT are two of the worst in the country. God awful.

I get the frustration towards construction. Some jobs feel like they take forever. Some jobs actuallydo.

Not many people line up to thank us when we're done, but I don't get paid for thank yous.

Man it sucks to be at work today. First time in the construction business I've had to work the day after xmas. Also the first time the guys in the field like having an inspector around giving everyone a hard time and enforcing holiday traffic rules which prevents them from 75% of their work.

Thanks for explaining. You know what drives me crazy about DelDot. It seems like they will take 2 years to complete a project and then 2 year later will be re-doing it. I heard its because unless Delaware spends so much on road repairs, they wont get federal money. So they end up doing roads over just to get the money, not because the roads are bad. That is really what drives me nuts.
