There's no question that we have a big enough fan base locally to fill up whatever venue the game would be in. The problem is the national TV viewership. I'm not sure that the Bolts could deliver the viewers. These are big productions and NBC needs a big payoff. Sure would love to have it happen though. I'd go in a heartbeat.

Yes they do... it would have to be the PHILLY FLYERS... Tampa has a good history with Philly within the realm of sports in general. Tampa is kinda a thorn in the side of Philly.

2003 Playoffs Tampa beats Philly in Philly to go to superbowl and wins it.
2008 World Series Philly vs Tampa that Philly took.
2004 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals Tampa beat Philly and ten won the cup in the finals.
2011 The 1-3-1 Lavoriette Joke Game
2013 Tampa Bay icon Vinny now plays for Philly

Not to mention they could market the least marketed NHL superstar in the league Steven Stamkos.

I am sure NBC could make enough filler content for that game to boost ratings.

Steven Stamkos would have to be the focal point, IMO. We may have the rivalry with Philly, but do they feel it with us? I'm not sure that it's to the same degree hockey wise.

Awesome to hear about outdoor hockey in Florida...anywhere! I only wish we had the stability you guys have had. We always seem to be starting from square one. Hoping Viola practices what he's been preaching to us and the media. There's lots of fans here, just waiting for the somewhat permanent upward turn.

Drouin makes crazy deke through the middle almost scores ... Play goes other way and he breaks it up at our blue line even though he started from behind their goal line .. That's the stuff cooper wants to see .?4-1 final ! Drouin is doing awesome on both sides of the puck

I think a lot of people forget how good Tyler Johnson has been for us.. Especially since the stamkos injury. He has stepped up big time!

Filppula has risen and become a leader on top of what he does on the ice ... Johnson and palat would think the AHL is a joke if they went ack . They've established themselves as 1st liners in the absence of stamkos and are great

I could see Colorado or Minny before Tampa. Banking on the snowbirds in January I guess because they can't fill the stadium for the Bucs. Even Dallas would be good as the Boys don't play inJanuary anyway.

The Bucs don't deserve a full stadium, that's why they don't sell tickets. Glazers pissed away fans after they bought ManU following a 3 or 4 win season and demanded another larger seat deposit. Since then we haven't been poop to rebuild the fan base

Not sure how NBC would feel about a Winter Classic featuring Tampa.
While Stamkos is certainly a draw, though he hasn't been marketed nearly as well as Ovie or Crosby, the Bolts just don't the fanbase that the Rangers, Philly, Boston, Chicago or Detroit does. Or the franchise history of a Montreal or Toronto.
