Just please, no more games at Fenway.

Absolutely no view of the play for 90% of people in the crowd.

I paid $150 a pop for me and my then girlfriend to watch the jumbotron in center.

- tyanderson

Frozen Fenway was the worst sporting event I have ever been to. You are not exaggerating at all in saying 90% of the crowd could not see the game. Lets he honest, there's a high percentage of fans that can't see the whole field during a baseball game there, never mind hockey. Gillette Stadium or nothing.

not in a million years.

minny and colorado havent hosted a game cuz nobody cares about those teams outside of their own cities.

detroit, philly, chi, nyr all either have large fan bases around the usa/canada or are large tv markets

- Jurco_28

Oh good, wouldn't want the Capitals and Flyers to feel left out. Good to see them finally included in one of these Winter Classics.

Those are two horrible teams to have in the Winter Classic. What a boring dud that will be.

Definitely too much to include the Flyers for a third time in such a short time, but if they continue with the Stadium and Heritage series I don't mind as much.

Also kinda stinks to see it in Washington since that means I need to wait longer to see a battle of Pennsylvania at Beaver Stadium

Meh, I guess. But by your logic, every game should feature Montreal and Toronto, who have bigger fanbases than all of those teams combined, all across the world.

Yeah, because this year's matchup is between a couple of juggernauts.

Who cares?

I'm looking for the best way to record kids playing hockey. Any thoughts?

Why is everyone so surprised? The Winter Classic has been a money grab from day one and in order for that to work they need ratings. People are throwing out names like Colorado, Minnesota, St. Louis; aside from hardcore hockey fans who the hell is going to watch that? It's always going to be big, traditional hockey markets, and with the exception of Chicago, that means Eastern teams. Get used to it.

Similar to why the Penguins vs an Eastern Conference team is on NBC rivalry night almost every week. They need to make she the ratings are where they need to be.

Lol @ Tampa.

Care to explain why? Or does 3 straight years of 90% + attendance and one of the best players in the game that the NHL wants to showcase not do enough explaining?

Come on really? Leafs and sabres outdoors would be insane. But instead you pick Florida.....
- jaumiller

Quality of play on the ice should account for something right? The NHL needs to put good teams on the ice for these classic games, and you guys have some serious building blocks but give em a few years and it will be time

An outdoor game in Tampa? What next, beach volleyball in Yellowknife?
I'm all for Hockey in TBay, but we have something called humidity here that makes ice melt at record (frank)ing pace.... In the the "dead" of winter. Try again kids.

- Artyukhin76

There's an outdoor game in LA coming up. Lets see how that goes before we say one way or the other. However, I share your concerns
