The Wire and Sopranos are 1a and 1b for me, could go either way. Also including Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Oz, Boardwalk Empire, Homeland in my top 10.
Showtime, unfortunately, has the uncanny ability to debut a show, have an amazing first season (or two), and then sh*t the bed. Look no further than Dexter, Weeds, Californication, Borgias, House of Lies. The only show to buck that trend is Homeland. And here's to hoping Ray Donovan can follow suit, but I'm not holding my breath. - steelydan
Yeah, Wire and Sopranos are 1A and 1B for me, too.
Boardwalk, Mad Men and Deadwood aren't far behind.
Game of Thrones is good... but not a fan of the way they've adapted some of the story lines and characters. The first season was pretty incredible, though.
Homeland... I never understood what the hype was about. It's like a premium cable version of NCIS... no nuance at all. |

I'm going to have to disagree with you regarding showtime shows. Dexter was still very good through 6 seasons. It was season 7 and 8 that started to go down hill. Inevitable in most shows that run for that long. Shameless is still very strong after 3 seasons. I liked the Borgias, and didnt think it merited a cancel. Homeland IMO is the only one on here that isn't bucking that trend. While I watch it, the 2nd and 3rd season are no-where near as good as season 1. Californication did start to go down hill, but only after 5 or so seasons... How many times can Hank do the same thing? Weeds, again was great. Forget what season it started to suck, but it was about the time they left their hometown. I havent watched House of Lies. But Nurse Jackie aslo went downhil quick. I did like Ray Donovan.
Sopranos is a show that also started to go downhill later in life. And I think Boardwalk Empire and Walking Dead are too. I would say the only Show that got better and better as time went on is Breaking Bad. Most incredible show ever. |

I absolutely 100% DO know Cap-A-Nomics. Especially regards to Hockey Players and The World that NHL Teams live in, not the world YOUR living in. What your saying is simply misinformation and not based on the FACTS of the Hockey World. It is simply not the case. But simply... if you can't win an argmint on FACTS, attack the poster!
My knowlige of the CAP is proven.

I believe the 2nd and 3rd place team in each div play each other while the 1st place teams face the wildcards. So it would be:
Boston vs Detroit
Pitts vs Toronto
TB vs Montreal
Flyers vs Washington

Would be a fun one: who would choke 1st, the Leafs or MAF?
Philly/Washington could be a bloodbath
edit: Boston/Detroit would be cool, I don't think theyve met in the playoffs for around half a century or so! |

not to be cocky but i dont think the leafs losing to the pens should be considered a choke. some definite talent on that team, and they always play the pens extremely hard, but they should not be expected to win that series.
i still have reservations about fleury come the weather getting warm, but right now, he is phenomenal. granted we have done this dance before. we shall see. i would still like an insurance policy to be brought in. im a big fleury fan because i like him as a person so much, but if he pulls it again this year he has to go |
