I'd have to agree, despite his brain cramps and stupid penalties, Ness hasn't done anything to show he should be playing.

I have no idea how Ness can play effective D with his size?

Hmmm...well...that leaves Mayfield I guess....
- keaner17

I'm pretty high on Mayfield, but I don't think he'll make the top 4. I'm hoping I'll be proven wrong.

hickey plays a lot more physical than ness does, which is disturbing as they're pretty much the same size.

He's seen three specialists. All said he isn't cleared to play. He wouldn't see three doctors if he didnt want to get out there

Donovan should not have been sent down. I really don't know why they haven't called him back up, unless Cappy's convinced he was the reason they were losing and now all is good.

Ness has struggled a lot the last week, I'm actually surprised Donovan isn't back. Maybe there is more to it. But then with this team who the f knows

Dehaan Hamonic
Hickey Amac
Strait Donovan

while IMO it's the best we could put together with our current available players...man does that ever not look like an NHL defense.

Even with Hickey, it's tough to be a regular dman with his lack of size in today's NHL.

You need to have other attributes that are borderline elite to excel when youre lacking in size. As of now Hickey hasn't shown any.

I actually disagree with that.. To be successful you need some size on the back end but you need puck movers... Guys like Subban Pietrangelo Shattenkirk Doughty Keith are not giants that have good size but their mobility and vision is what this defense so badly needs.. The only one that can do it is DeHaan

tough to evaluate hickey when he's been paired with donovan, ness, carkner and amac. Poor son of a b hasn't had a decent partner yet this season.

I think if Garth isn't going to step up... it's time.

He messed up this offseason with the additions of Regin, and Bouchard.

I did tell you guys I didn't like the signings.

The injuries on "D" he gets a pass.

But letting Cappy stick around is inexcusable.

He has two things to do this year....1./ Fire Cappy
2./ Sign Vanek

If he fails to do either of these two... he should be fired.

Injuries are one thing but when a GM leaves his blue line thin enough where losing lubo will causethis much pain he should be fired in the first place if you ask me.

It amazes me that they roll out Hickey, Ness, AMAC and Striat on a regular basis....

Orr isn't available

On another note, de Haan must be in the doghouse, they're making him take shifts with Amac

He looked like he was going to have a monster of a season in the beginning of they year and then he stopped playing.
