Another nignt, three more bad hits... Those 2 game suspension are really teaching guys.

If Adam Oats' remarks after the game weren't so disingenuous, they'd be comical.

And super hypocrite Claude Julien defending Marchand for driling a guy in the numbers last night.... unfortunately the NHL doesn't have a problem with it either (no hearing). Monahan should have stayed down... rookie mistake. Marchand would still be lying there.

It was a bad hit - not surprised that Oates is defending it, it's what coaches typically do. He was right about one thing : the Caps have been the recipient of a couple of these type of hits, and when a Cap player has jumped in to defend, he gets hit with an instigator (which basically negates 2 mins of a 5 min PP). Grossman jumped in on this one and got nothing (which frankly is how it should be, but it would be nice to see some consistency) and the penalty altered the outcome of the game.

BTW, I was waiting for something like this to happen after the league did nothing about Emery's assault on Holtby.
